As has already been asked - where do you get this information from?? The news which was leaked in The Sun newspaper (that font of all that is truth and knowledgeable)??

Just because this twat of an agent (which they all are really) has stated that we have had an offer Gyan wants to leave?

If you think you could get 30m for gyan then you've lost the plot, lets be honest you got lucky to get 20m on henderson whos worth 8m tops, gyan is probz worth 12m tops, what club would want him for 30m? and dont say city cause they go for much better players.

    thats right noone.

no offense but thats delusion at its best.

Assuming he doesn't have a buy out clause in his contract we can ask for whatever we like - it's up to other teams to decide what they think he's worth. If nobody matches that valuation then he's going nowhere for now.

Yes clearly his value has gone up - £20m would be realistic but I would much rather keep him, love his game and his personality.

He clearly stated that he was finding it difficult too be away from his family and its dofferent from when he was in France because they had a winter break whereas in England we do not have one so he cannot go and visit them as often and he missed out on their christmas tradition.

He was poor at the start of the season (too be expected) He had a good run of form from after we lost too Newcastle up until we sold Bent and then was poor again. It probably was unfair but I still think theres better out there for a player who contributes more too the team.

Its just my opinion and if he stays I will be happy but he will only be gone next summer after missing 2 months of this season.

Hmm well kinda yeah, i think you overpayed in the first place, i think at tops hes worth 12m but that just my opinion, 20m is insane, lets compare him to his apparent "nemesis" suarez.

in my honest opinion Suarez is quite alot better than gyan, like i mean alot. he was bought for 22.5m, so your saying that gyan is a mere 2m less than suarez interms of cash?

i know the market today is crazy, but seriously, if you sell gyan for 20m ill cant think of anything to do, but ill do any suggestions thrown around, video tape it put it on youtube and show it to you guys, haha lolz.

Well the very same team that paid £22m for Suarez, also paid £35m for Carroll, and £20m for Henderson, and will pay £20m for Downing.

So there is a lot of room for debate there. For me Gyan will be between £18-20.

Suarez was the bargain of the year, the best player in the prem imo.

Then how can you justify £50m for a statue to the boys in blue.

Players are only worth what anyone will pay for them at the time.

Well thats the point, i dont think any team will pay 30m for gyan, you can put your valuation at 30m but doesnt mean anyone will buy him ( my post was mainly aimed at the person who said gyan is worth 30m in the 2nd post i think on this whole thread ).

and between 18-20m, its possible someone would pay that but which team in your opinion would?

the only teams i could see doing it would be a team like galatasaray, but i still find it incrediably unlikely.

If Gyan plays for us next season like he played for Ghana against England, his value will sky rocket, we just didnt see enough of that last season, but it was his first season in the PL, no winter break (which he thought he was going to get) gelling with new players, his strike partner buggering off, no pre-season training, unfit at the start of the year, then injured at the back end.

Keep him, I like him, whether he will score 20-25 goals a season is debatable, but we just dont know what he will be like with a new strike partner, whoever that will be.

I agree, most likely a foreign team, because the big clubs in the prem don't need him, so spurs would be about as higher profile club he could get here.

But if he stays, anything could happen this season, he could have a blinder and his value will go up. Or it could go the other way.

But at the moment £18-20m in this crazy world of football. Still an obscene amount.

Don`t we have to think about what he is worth to us as a club... at the mo we have him with Campbell (crocked for most of the season by all accounts), Long John Thingy Dong (who is a straight forward punt IMO as he is totally unproven) and the Whickster (unproven, young, but looks like the right sort). Without Gyan we are so exposed it would feel like January again up front....

Look what Bent did for Villa - shrewd business for them - lots of cash yes but kept them up...

If Gyan keeps on knocking in say 15 this season and brings on Whickham and the Dongmeister then he must be worth a huge figure for us - concerned though about any "release clause" in his contract.

The joy of supporting Sunderland!!! Anyone got any nails left (still the first week in July!!!)

Your right mate, he's flying the flag for SAFC in the African world at the moment.

He's a high profile player, but whether or not he is as good as that profile is another matter. He has the right image etc, and personality, but if he is to go, let it happen soon, so as we can take action.

Or lets get this sorted, and stop the rumours.

I personally reckon he's off, but that's just my opinion, no evidence or owt. So time will tell.
