Sounds like on of those borderline deals if true, that could go either way, could be genuis, or utter stupidity... I was on of the first to dismiss Best, but to be fair to him, he got us out of a sticky patch, and I would prefer to keep him

He got more of a goalscoring instinct than Doyle, would definitely have him ahead of Doyle.

I wouldn't mind us putting in a bid up to 10 million to acquire his services, I could see him becoming a big hit in the premier league like Robbie Keane

I don't think i've really watched Long too closely. What exactly makes him stand out from the young 20-25 year old strikers abroad? Considering Reading want as close to £10mil as they can get for him it doesnt sound like so much of a good deal to me, going purely on his goals record. Only seems as if he's had one good season and then the hype machine started...

Compared to the likes of say; Erdinc or Nolan Roux (both up for sale around the £7mil mark) what puts stands out?

I would like another non-African striker though for cover. Especially in January.

Just because i cant see the fast paced, attacking style of football working with Shola and an aging Lovenkrands. I think people are too harsh on Best though. He's been decent when we needed him last season and has more about him than Shola and Ranger. Had a good start to the championship the season before that with Coventry but then with us it just seemed like he couldnt get that ONE goal he needed to get off the mark. Always got into good positions, but i just remember him always hitting the woodwork. Id prefer to keep him to be honest and maybe loan Ranger/Airey out for regular 1st team football.

As for Shola i think we'll always be stuck with him and i know Lovenkrands always wanted to back to Copenhagen to play while he still can, but not sure what costs would be involved to make that happen.
