ST. ANN, MO (KTVI)-The St. Ann police chief is apologizing after an innocent man was injured and bloodied when he was mistakenly arrested Thursday afternoon. Joseph Swink, 22, is a college junior studying accounting. He was on his way home from an internship at Edward Jones when it all unfolded. http://fox2now.com/2015/01/16/st-ann-police-chief-apologizes-for-mans-mistaken-arrest-injury/ American police at it again. Pic of how he looked after the beating in that link. I like how the police won't get charged as it was in 'good faith'. They seem to think beating a guy up is allowed. But got caught out beating up the wrong guy so say 'sorry'. All kinds of ****ed up.
How many 90s Premier League stars can you name? http://www.buzzfeed.com/robinedds/how-many-90s-premier-league-stars-can-you-name#.tlzR6M8P1Z
Similar case just recently in America...woman ended up in hospital beaten up after being stopped by a traffic cop and has now been charged with attacking the policeman. It was on video that he dragged her from her car and she looked more in distress than violent. She was looking round in despair. Obviously not sensible to object even if you are being manhandled.
How on earth is a child supposed to be that flexible that it can make the switch between having, no doubt, been told that 8 + 5 = 13, then it gets told that 8 + 5 is the same as 10 + 2..? It's flawed logic. That will just confuse.** **I'm assuming the child is very young, bearing in mind the crudeness of the writing. BTW, it's integers, therefore arithmetic. I'd love someone to say... Do the Arith..! I suppose this the abstract integer way of adding beans together and taking some away. I remember an old episode of Blackadder where Baldrick calls a collection of five beans some beans. So Blackadder explains the concept of 1,2,3,4,5 with the five beans. He takes one away and asks Baldrick how many there are. Now intelligent Baldrick says 4 beans, and 1 bean in Blackadder's hand. Blackadder then puts the single bean back with the other four and asks how many beans there are. And Baldrick says... some beans.
No bloody wonder the county is going to rack and ruin. I wouldn't let some teachers train my dog let alone educate children. The child here has shown more intelligence than the teacher FFS.
Nadal in BIG trouble in the Australian Open. 2 sets to 1 down against Tim Smyczek, an American qualifier ranked outside the top 100.
Anyone with a 4K Smart TV might want to browse here: http://www.slashgear.com/the-largest-ever-hubble-photo-shows-andromedas-glory-20365421/ Sadly, I don't have the equipment to fully realise the video, but one or two might.
Judging from the ascenders and descenders (s)he will be year one or two. I wonder as to the country this originated in as early years/primary curriculum insists upon number bonds (paired numbers making 5,10, 20 etc) and addition and subtraction using number line method if not mental. Definitely a very strange/unreasonable question to give. Bloody teachers. All them holidays. Pah! *Harrumph! Harrumph!*
Page 3 girls usually have a natural healthy look to them at least. It's catwalk and fashion models that are likely to give young girls body issues and eating disorders.
Since posting my reply I have discussed this with the teachers I know and they have explained that the question should not have been taken in isolation. You are right it is about paired numbers. If you take a two from the five (the mistake we all made was thought this meant subtract) and add that to the eight you have ten. The three remaining can then be added to the ten to make thirteen which is the answer we all wanted to scream in the first place because we are not just learning to add but have become very skilled at it.
Looks pretty impressive on my 1080HD TV. The only place I've seen 4K was in Richer Sounds and that was so sodding detailed it was sharper than real life [or so it seemed]. Bet it looked impressive.
Ah! I see it now! We don't do much of this kind of work in KG/Reception! You know I always think when new teaching methods are introduced that the previous generation finds them incomprehensible. When I was training we were all blown away that vertical addition and subtraction was no more, to be replaced by partitioning and the 'empty number line' method. We found it impossible to take on board. The reality is that if you use the new methods with young children they find them much more widely adaptable and enable them to take mental shortcuts whereas the vertical method does not allow for that so much.
I'm afraid this pops into my head every time someone mentions hobbies. Unusually for Monty Python, it's NSFW. Vin
