I had a short conversation with Curtis on twitter last Summer, where I suggested to him that it would be a wiser policy not to wash his undies in public as the owners wouldn't appreciate that sort of thing. Amazingly he responded to me commenting that he always tells it like it is with total honesty, which wasn;t really the point I was trying to make to him. In our current situation I cannot see renewing contracts being high up the priorities list, and nor should it be, there's more important things to focus on.
June 12th 2014... Hull City and Curtis Davies will sit down at the end of this month to open talks about a new and improved deal. Having played his way to the club's Player of the Season award in a campaign where he missed just one Premier League game, Davies is wanted by a host of top-flight admirers. Newcastle are reported to be the latest club to show an interest in the 29-year-old, who still has two years left on the deal he signed ahead of last season. But the centre-half and his agent have now agreed to meet with chief executive Ehab Allam to try to thrash out new terms to keep him at the Tigers. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...tory-21225009-detail/story.html#ixzz3PTJ1oC8c
That reads like Davies and his agent want the new deal, cos of all this supposed interest, and in the meeting Ehabs told him to **** off. He was happy to sign a contract a year earlier he should honour it.
On Sky Sports Transfer Centre it mentions we may be interested in Andy Johnson, but then the actual story is about Luton. So probably a typo...
Ahem http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...lk/news/bruce-davies-not-for-sale_166608.html manager Steve Bruce has insisted that Curtis Davies will not be leaving the North-East club in the summer transfer window. Davies said two weeks ago that he was disappointed the club hadn't offered him a new deal, which led to rumours that Crystal Palace would table an £8m bid for the central defender. However, Bruce has dismissed any suggestion that the club captain will leave the Tigers. "Curtis won't be going anywhere," Bruce is quoted as saying in The Sun. "He's under contract here. No matter what happens, he'll be with us when the season gets underway, that's for sure." Davies, 29, joined Hull last summer in a deal worth £2.25m.
http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/davies-hoping-hull-deal Hull City captain Curtis Davies is eager to commit his long-term future to the FA Cup finalists. Davies moved to the KC Stadium from Birmingham City a year ago and turned in a superb season under Steve Bruce. Taking over captaincy duties from Robert Koren midway through the campaign, Davies proved to be a rock in Hull's defence as they secured top-flight survival and reached the FA Cup final before losing to Arsenal in extra-time. Despite having two years left on his existing deal, Davies - whose performances led to calls for him to be involved in England's FIFA World Cup squad - is keen to lay down roots in east Yorkshire by penning a new contract. "There's not been an offer at this stage," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "I'd like to sit down and talk about a new deal but there's not been an offer put my way. "That's a little bit disappointing but it's one of those things. I've got two years on my contract so maybe the club sees that as long enough. "If the opportunity came up I'd love to sit down and discuss my future here but that's not my place. "I can't force anyone's hand into getting a new contract. That's up to the chairman and the manager. "I'm hoping there will be talks so we'll wait and see where we go." Too ****ing right we do you greedy ****.
Aaron Lennon on loan. We've got one ****ing loan spot to use and we're using it on a winger? Have we got an aversion to strikers or what? http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...er-lennon-to-join-relegation-battle-1-7064322
It could work: Lennon and Elmo pushing each other off the ball in their eagerness to feed Johnny X in the middle.
I'd still be happy with Lennon. I think he's a great player, I'm sure Bruce has plans to bring in a striker - it's not like he doesn't know our options at that end of the pitch are zero.
The general consensus of people on here seem to think we need a target man upfront on loan/permanent transfer, how about we go for Akinfenwa? He'll be cheap, he's scoring goals this season and he's a mother ****ing tank.
