I've been hearing and reading a lot about our 'day out' at Wembley. I've been following City for so many years that I know not to take anything for granted. I remember these ties, I was at the home games for all of them and all three Walsall games. Does anybody recall any others?

    25/9/1990 League Cup 2nd Round 1st Leg Sunderland 0 Bristol City 1
    9/10/1990 2nd Leg Bristol City 1 Sunderland 6

    A year later
25/9/1991 League Cup 2nd Round Bristol Rovers 1 Bristol City 3
    8/10/1991 2nd Leg Bristol City 2 Bristol Rovers 4

30/1/2002 LDV Vans Area Final 1st Leg Cambridge 0 Bristol City 0
    19/2/2002 2nd Leg Bristol City 0 Cambridge 2

and one in our favour (until you get to the replay)
25/5/1988 Div 3 Play Off Final 1st Leg Bristol City 1 Walsall 3
    28/5/1988 2nd Leg Walsall 0 Bristol City 2

    Nothing is guaranteed.
I have a suspicion that the Gills may put out a weakened team (as might we)

Nothing should be taken for granted at any time and if we want a Wembley trip then everyone has to be focused on the prize.

AS MIGHT WE! I shouldn't think so.. Wembly is the cost of a new player..and who is weak at the moment in our side? we haven't got that many anyway

We should make a pretty penny out of a day in the smoke with ticket sales, and TV rights plus all other associated commercial activity this sort of thing generates
The only slight downside is that it's on a Sunday

They only need to win by 2 goals. Game would then go to pens.

Tie isn't won yet, if we were 2-0 down, we would still fancy our chances, but being in front does give us a good advantage. An early goal by them would make it a different game, an early one for us would, kill the tie off.

I support both sides, definitely off to Wembley regardless of result :emoticon-0105-wink:

But I'd rather be going there to support City :emoticon-0167-beer:<party><party><party>

Gillingham is the family team with City being the local more watched team.

I truly cannot see Gills equalling or bettering our result down there. I think Imread somewhere our 3 wins there are more than the Gills themselves had won there in the same time between the 1st and 3rd games, so would be a major major shock we if we f**k this up.
