Committed Liverpool fan names his baby girl YNWA… world gasps One Liverpool fan has managed to convince his wife to name their child 'YNWA', in an attempt to convince the world of his commitment to the Reds. His daughter is now called Karoline YNWA, so mission accomplished. The Norwegian-based Reds fan initially wanted to give his daughter the middle name of 'Gerrard' but his wife - the girl's mother, Eirin Isabell Iversen - agreed on the compromise of the acronym for 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. Speaking to Norwegian paper Dagbladry, Erin said: "I'm probably not as interested in football, but it was actually my suggestion to call her YNWA. He suggested Gerrard before we knew if it was a boy or girl." Obviously the big question is: will Karoline YNWA even support Liverpool? "Her name is Karoline YNWA, we could not really force her to cheer Liverpool, but she is very proud of her name," her mother said. When discussing baby names, I had loads of people saying "I bet you name it after a Liverpool player" but its something I'd never do. Not only could that player be a **** and ****off to a rival (aka; Torres) but you child could absolutely hate the game / person you choose too. The mrs' (nm) sister is called Kylie after the one and only, she can't stand her
Did you listen to TalkSport yesterday afternoon/evening...? They were debating who had the better fans, Liverpool or Everton. I didn't listen to all of it but Liverpool were winning the poll when I turned it off
YNWA is f-ink embarrassing, poor girl. When will people learn that a kids name is their name for life not for the parent to show what a true 'fan' they are. Similarly I saw recently a guy named his son Optimus cos he likes transformers. That kid is getting beaten up daily unless he turns out to be a tough bastard - but at least it's passable as an actual name. YNWA - WTF!! .
Evil batards What are they going to do to the poor kid next? Make Rolf Harris her godfather? That would be less mean tbh...
Apparently it's pronounced Yee n'wa - they have a friend who's son is Oliver Paul pronounced - O Liverpål [try your best Norwegian accent when saying it] EDIT - just spotted astro's reply
