Could be worse. Will take 1-1 now. But don't like Jose doing this - playing Mikel & Cahill (with JT year older) in the same team is recipe for disaster. Just like last season Playing Lamps & Mikel. Why do we have to be this defensive? We are not playing Real Madrid away in our CL first leg. are we? If Mikel makes more than 5 starts from now on - we will not win anything this season also. Thought we played well in the first half but after the goal we tended to sit back as it didn't look like they could hurt us too much but if you invite any side on to you like we did you sometimes have to pay the piper and Liverpool deserved their break. could have been worse as Courtois showed just why he is the premierships best goalkeeper.
That was hard work watching that tonight! The only plus, was that we got a draw that we barely deserved. I'm going to kid myself the boys were only keeping their powder dry for a 5 star performance next week at SB.
Can't say I like the way we play defensive. Start of season we just played and scored for fun. Always likely to drop points when you decide to try and eke out an away drawer. Sterling again exposed our mogodon slow defenders, though he could probably do the same to many quick ones. Please , no more negative football.
Are you concerned that you went from free scoring five to a penalty in a matter of two matches? It seems to me to be a huge dip in goal scoring form. I went for Liverpool to get to the final and they are by no means out of it because I feel Jose doesn't care too much for this trophy.
Bollox to be honest. If Jose didn't care for it, he wouldn't have picked 9-10 of his main starting 11 would he? It was an average performance but one designed to not lose. Jose plays ties over 180 minutes and you'd have to make us favourites now with the home leg to come. Under the lights, cup semi at home, Liverpool were always going to give it some. Can they keep that up away from home, I'm not so sure.

Yeah they probably did deserve more though as I said above, I think we played for the draw so I suspect Jose will be happy with the result. Will be a different match at the Bridge.
Yup, agree totally. I said before, Jose seems to have told them to stay in first gear and grab a draw or nick a one nil win. Atleast I hope he did, because if that "effort" was sincere they need an ass whooping
We shouldn't be playing virtually our entire first 11 in games like that. The likes of Cech, Zouma, Ramires, Ake/Loftus, Schurrle and Remy should be starting and key players like Fabregas, Hazard and Costa should be rested. Then again, we do have the FA Cup next so I'd hope to expect those players to play then.
Ultimately whether we progress will determine the success of last nights approach but Sterling perhaps aside, there's nothing to fear in that Liverpool side and they are suspect at the back. Perhaps we should have gone at them more. An open game would have exposed their defensive frailties more than ours I suspect.
On another note, anyone else think that Balotelli posting a picture on twitter of him watching the game last night was a tad embarrassing? When I'm watching a Chelsea game, I won't even take a toilet break let alone take the time out to set up a posed picture to show the world what a good 'fan' I am. If that was one of our players It would have the opposite effect to what he was clearly trying to do.
We had to work very had to make you look bad. We never let you in except when Hazard dived. We had to work our socks off to break up and press the crap out of you lot and we kept the ball for long periods denying you any momentum.
