I thought he'd at least lie to make the post more attractive. Nothing's changing - if anything it's only going to get worse for the manager coming in (I sense little barbs at Pardew's conduct throughout the interview). Just confirms what we've long suspected. Plus we won't be buying any ****er this month and there's a very strong suggestion we won't be getting a manager until the summer. Strap yourself in for the hugely uncomfortable and bumpy ride that will be Carver's tenure.

I expect that optimism gauge to remain strongly at 'No'.

    I'm not going to speculate.

We've seen evidence stating we are preparing to have someone in before the Hull game (Carver himself stated it would be resolved by then.) and we have Remy Garde on record as saying he has spoken to Charnley a few times already. 1+1= 2 and I will stick by that principle before trying to dissect every last word that comes out of the director's mouth and attempting to bend it into something I either want to believe or something I don't want to believe.

When I do start bending interviews to my will, I shall promptly apply for the Chronicle myself and write 20 articles a day about the Newcastle head coach position. I think I can average about 3 Remi Garde is ****e articles every 5 minutes and balance that with about 4 articles about how Mike Ashley might be doing something devious while sat upon his solid gold throne as the masses digest corn flakes and mine coal to power NUFC's furnaces atleast 7 times a day.

As you know I usually do 1 or 2 games a season,5/6 of us go and not all Toon fans but getting harder to do it cos of Ashley's mentality. Why should I spend 5/6 hundred quid when I know owner doesn't care come December. We are out of the cup and in his eyes safe and just like last year season over with 4 and a bit months to go.I love Newcastle team and city but Ashley not helping tourism with his 5 month season approach.

Charnley- Pl allows for 25 registered players and we have that number registered. reason for no recruits, so, obviously no one out then. Yeh right.

I just Wish people who start standing with there feet and not turn up to home games, every season we get treated like mugs but people still continue to turn up.
Start following Gateshead until they sell our club.
I hope we go down as that will hurt the **** who ****s so over every season Back pocket.
I remember when supporting newcastle was something to be proud of granted we never won nowt but we always had that believe that we could make things happen unlike now RIP nufc

F*ck me...it's going to be Carr's mate Bruce in the summer now isn't it, shoot me now.

If they don't bring in a CB before the end of the window we are going to get dragged into a relegation scrap, stop being so cheap Ashley.

You would think that they couldn't make more of a mess than Ashley already has but they are certainly trying their hardest.

They whinge and whinge about January being a bad window. Well you little ****wit, you knew we needed a centre back and striker in the summer. Sorry what am I talking about, Mbiwa's departure was a shock, like Pardew leaving...he does realise that Palace approached them and they gave them permission to speak to Pardew, they could easily have said "in the summer"

I'm sure I remember some time ago 'the board' stating that January was a good window to buy in?! Considering the amount of business we have historically done in January since Ashley's been in charge, stating otherwise seems contradictory. Speaking in tongues is clearly a pre-requisite for any employee at NUFC.

The argument is always that clubs know the buying party is desperate. This is true, but can be mitigated somewhat by it being some selling clubs last chance to cash in for contracts running down (Sissoko).

Charnley tries to explain our previous business away by saying we were desperate. Are we not desperate for a centre back now having loaned one out and got another out for the season? Get a loan in if need be. If the manager doesn't want him then you don't have to retain. The bottom line is they think we're not going down so they are not bothered. Trying to use the squad of 25 excuse is a bit embarrassing to be honest.

This is why we have done so much business in January in the past. Ashley loves a deal and knows he can get certain players for a knockdown price in January, when there's only 6 months left on a contract. He would always prefer the free signing in the summer, but apart from Colback & Gosling (!!!). Our success at securing frees in the summer hasn't been great. We're hardly known for paying big wages, which is what the free agents are after, along with a hefty signing on fee.

Indeed, we are desperate. To be so blasé about hiring a new manager/head coach and signing new players right now, is foolhardy. With no investment and a lame duck caretaker, we are well and truly in a battle. Charnley is clearly taking his queues from the gambling man and seems convinced that doing nothing now, is not detrimental to the clubs PL status. He's playing a fairly dicey game, if you ask me.

It's already touched on, but the "we're at 25 players" comment is nothing short of comedy. It's astonishing if he thinks literally all fans are idiotic enough to swallow that, and it's frankly frightening if he doesn't know the rules himself and believes what he says.

It just feels like the club is run on a calculator. We're a risk assessment, not a football club.
