I know we have the New Format thread to discuss this new site, but I am having major problems with it that I thought would get lost on that thread. This is not a format issue, it is about the site's servers. I have experienced recently something that I have never experienced with any other site: Safari cannot open the page because the server stopped responding. It takes forever to try and load and then gives up. I get this most of the time, even at odd times of day or night. It will really restrict my use of the forum, I'm afraid. All other sites are fine, my broadband is quick, there seems no other explanation than the servers are not up to the job. Other symptoms include the sporadic inability to quote or 'like' articles. It took four attempts to load the basic not606 site for this article and who knows if it will publish? Anyone else finding this?
Not sure if you are aware Andy, but you've posted the thread twice. I'm having no problems at all, I'm using Google Chrome as my browser and I'm wondering if Safari is your problem. Have you tried a different browser?
Just realised that when it apparently rejected this, it had accepted it hence two threads. Apologies, everyone. Cheers, Toby, I've tried that. I get a "I'm thinking" type black rectangle top right of the screen, near the letter and flag logos that goes on interminably and then I'm back to square 1 as if I haven't liked, quoted, or attempted to post.nit is sporadic as I say. I'll try a new OS and maybe browser but all other sites are fine. Thanks for getting back.
I have problems when not in incognito mode with Chrome, which is why I thought it was cookie-related. Safari is generally an awful browser...
