Were you asking a serious question? If so, then no, they only count after extra time. 0-0 after 90 and it goes to extra time, then we're out if it's still 0-0 at 120 minutes.
Hmm worked hard but didn't really get involved. Good effort from him though. My post was more on the youngsters in the team. Also, thought Lucas was very good. However I do fear for Hendo in a midfield 2. As mentioned previously, in a midfield 2 alongside a DM, Hendo is the one who is expected to start attacks and carry the ball. However, he really doesn't want to get on the ball and turn - always looks for a quick pass back or he ends up dwelling.
If all square after 180 mins you get another 30 to try for a winner. If all square after 210 mins most away goals win
Now anyway...... For me, markovic was quite good, not in the slightest bit over powered by them Can was good Chelsea were "controlled" what was it? One dive one goal until luis smash it a mile over to up the stat? They are very organised no question. In general things were as good as they can be. The weaknesses in our quality are there compared to them but we played well. You need a bit of luck to score in a game like that I hope we get a bit next week but it can't fall to sterling cos he misses far too many
I thought Markovic did very well, not so much attacking but moreso in helping to keep Hazard and Costa quiet
Precisely, on the ball he is tidy but he fronted up on his wing and didn't look a player out of position at all. Good for him. Henderson was poor on the ball a bit, but worked hard Chelsea played not quite as defensively as in the game last year but they took out Oscar for mikey and sat back In fairness matic was all of 3 yards to one side and sterling got his run on Cahill. It was that close to a perfect mourinho display
Oh shout out to muckyminge for getting out to that through ball to Costa in the 46th minute That was tie over there Also.... Nice one Skertl, smashed him right in the ear and got away with it
We should've won the game, deserved to win it. But we did the same thing as when we played this lot at the end of last season and fecked the league up, namely tried to play through them right to the bitter end. Just put a ball in over the top lads, from the centre or ping a cross in from out wide. Doesn't matter. Just get the ball over this lot because you'll be there all week trying to thread it through them. In fairness we did do that a few times - that Sakho through ball was a pretty one for example - but then you've got a world class goalie to beat. There was one move where we did get it over them in the last 5, 10 minutes, can't remember now who it was but the ball went over the defence got in their box and caused them all manner of problems and I think led to a couple of openings. Great, world class goal from Sterling but he was wasteful otherwise. Quite a few very wayward shots. Lucas, Can, Moreno, Sakho, Markovic all had a great game, Coutinho was brilliant. We've got to show the same desire and commitment in the rest of our league games now. We've found a way of playing that the players know they can play well in that set-up now so should have much more confidence in future. Sturridge isn't the answer, he's been out for so long that it'll take weeks for him to get match fit and sharp. He's not gonna score a hat trick first game back, so it's up to these players to build on the recent much improved performances.
There's match fit and there's rusty The thing is with sturridge he's not been lying about but has gone through a long recouperation involving training So... Knowing season 1 rot hodgson saw him crocked with an ankle in an end of season friendly but he came back and scored in each game at the start with very little time training I think personally we should not write him off but wait and see... Not saying he will last a 90 nor score a goal a game but anything could happen say positive
