Best we've played for ages. I'd give every player 10/10 just for sheer effort . Tremendous fitness levels.
Lucas's best game for a couple of seasons. Sterling second half awesome.

Can't understand Carras criticism of Can. He's not a central defender and apart from pen thought he coped with Costa really well. They didn't have one effort on goal apart from pen. I'm sure he'd rather not be playing there but he's done well and better than lovren at the moment.

A draw was the least we deserved but it will be tough to win next week if we don't take the same attitude to the bridge.

Yes but if we do manage to take it to extra time, then we have another 30 mins to get another away goal.

I know people say it to take the piss... but the team did seem very negative. Not necessarily in personnel, but in tactics. You didn't press us at the back and I can't remember our defence being caused any real issues apart from the 1 time you got in for the penalty.

The fact you only had 1 shot is pretty damning statistics as well given the quality of attacking talent on display. Think going 1-0 up is sometimes your downfall as Mourinho is so keen to sit back and settle for that 1-0 at times...

If it finishes 0-0 or 1-1, we've got an extra half hour to try and get one though.

On the other hand, if it finishes 2-2, you've got an extra half-hour at home.

At this point, can't see much advantage either way if I'm honest.

No... because if it finishes 0-0 after full time we go to Extra time.. where as in Europe we'd be out onn away goal.

Therefor we have the extra 30 minutes to get the winner

I know, Jose does this at times, it can be frustrating, its like he has commanded the team to stay in first gear and save their legs.
Its frustrating, I would rather he played second stringers and just let them off the leash tbh

No, it's an advantage because if it finishes 0-0 after full time, we're still in the tie <doh>

Jesus, talking to you and Tobes is like smashing your head against a brick wall <doh>

Special mention to Lucas broke up everything won all his headers. This formation just suits us better with the players we have

Lads let's leave the whole extra time thing - it doesn't mean **** until the 90 is up at the bridge because who knows what the score line will be then

It was classic Mourinho tactics in fairness. He didn't come to win, he came to take a safe draw and then win at your place. European tactics. It wasn't pretty but I guess it was effective.

Lucas and Henderson provides better protection but it's so frustrating with how slow they are on the ball. Lucas I don't mind so much as he's the DM, but Henderson needs to learn how to receive the ball, stop and turn and look forward.

Other than that - thought the team played well.

Was one moment about 15 minutes from the end where he went through the back of someone and should have got a 2nd yellow but ref allowed them to play on as the ball went to a Chelsea player. Got lucky there.

Do you think he'll play it differently at home or try and stifle Liverpool out the match.

Would you have taken 1-1 before kick-off?

Mourinho "I don't think Liverpool deserved to lose, but we were in control".

Right... that'll explain the onslaught in the 2nd half where we dominated and had 7 shots to your 1...

Mourinho saying they had lots of "half chances" but still didn't manage to have any more shots <laugh>

Do love when he talks a load of bollocks, makes me chuckle.

Mourinho will set his team to attack and dominate at Stamford Bridge. Almost perfect away performance for him tonight.

Yeah would have tbh, a draw at Anfield aint to be sniffed at, its not so much the score, its the performance!
He has to set them up to win it in the return leg tbh, otherwise he may aswell field the reserves.

With City being the next game at the weekend afterwards, do you think he will?

Maybe take the risk and rest a few in prep for the big game at the top.

You're talking out yer hoop lad.

You stated you now had the away goal advantage, when the reality is you haven't. You have the potential of gaining an advantage should the second game finish level' but as it stands the away goal advantage sits with them
