Sad to say I was going through the old songs last night and one of the most popular was:

If I had the wings of a sparrow, if I had the arse of a crow,
I'd fly over L*t*n tomorrow, and **** on the bastards below.

Keats it ain't - but more popular at the time

I remember the first verse as:
There's a hole in the ceiling,
And the oak road is leaking
    David Pleat's got no money
    And Eric Morcambe ain't funny...

    Chiiii-ez! Chiiii-ez!
Chiez sur les salauds d'en haut!

    What was the os?

Never used to eat pies - cheese & onion rolls with a pint were my weakness. :emoticon-0111-blush
And I did get involved in the odd skirmish or two - at times they were unavoidable - mainly to help friends, so quite possibly.....:emoticon-0165-muscl

Wasn't me then - wasn't in the habit of carrying weapons. I do, however, have a fair idea who it could have been. :bandit:

Another song that I just remembered is:

Rodney Green is our scoring machine.
He's the greatest striker you've ever seen.
    A sensation, a sensation.
    Tell it to the Nation!

To the tune of The Equals Viva Bobby Joe

That was a clean (almost trite) one......

Oh for that sort of creativity these days.....:emoticon-0104-surpr

More chants from the old days :

You'll never take the Rookery.. Repeat til bored!

Zigger zagger, zagger zagger on your bike!

Hark now hear the Watford sing
    L*t*n ran away
    And we shall fight forevermore
    Because of boxing day.

Bertie Mee says to Bill Shankley, have you heard of the North bank Highbury?
Shanks said no, I don't think so, but I've heard of the Watford Rookery!

    (dictated!)

It's a long way to go etc

    ...and she wheeled her wheelbarrow
    From Watford to Harrow
    Singing
    Clap clap, clap-clap- clap etc

    Something like
I was born under the Rookery Roof
I was born under the Rookery Roof
Boots were made for kicking, guns were made to shoot,
If you come under the Rookery roof we'll all stick in the boot...
    ............ad infinitum..

Full version: (with apologies to Hornette)

    In Watford's fair town,
where the girls drop 'em down
I first set my eyes on our Kenny Furphy.*
    As he wheeled his wheelbarrow
    From Watford to Harrow
    Singing

    etc. etc.

    of course to Molly Malone

    * (some sang sweet Shirley Furphy - but that was disrespectful)

I know it makes no sense - but it scans and rhymes (sort of).
