'By mutual consent' could suggest he didn't have much choice. Can't say I'm too fussed either.

No, but with five wins from the last seven, it will be interesting to see how results post-Phelan compare.

No problem for me either, there was really nowhere for him to fit in as soon as it was announced that McAvoy would be coming .

His body language was embarrassing at times. Obviously helped turn our form around so as said above, we'll see if this has an impact. Doubt it will - clearly had the hump and we don't need that at our club

There's something about Phelan that makes me think of Cartman in Southpark...

    "You will respect my authoritah!"

I very much doubt Alex Neil is a man who is going to defer much to any of his coaches - not Gary Holt, not Frankie McAvoy and not Mike Phelan.

Pure speculation - if we hadn't got Alex Neil I think Phelan would have got the job. That didn't happen so Phelan is off.

Probably better he goes now rather than sulks.

Looking forward to the inevitable interview where he takes credit for everything that happened during his tenure at the club.

It all makes the next few games very interesting, as if they weren't already.

    What a season!

You only had to look at the dug out on Saturday in the second half. Holt and Neil up and down like a whores drawers shouting and bawling - Phelan standing motionless arms folded. Sorry to lose his experience and contacts but clearly no room for him when McEvoy arrives.

Hey fellas. Whats your thoughts on the possibility he could be coming to us in Hull, working as coach for Brucie?

    Good fit?

What's he bring to the team in your views?

He obviously knows the game well and knows Brucie. Could be an option for him. Not sure what he brought to the party really. You could say our form improved (which it did, but couldn't get any worse!) but equally we had two total no shows under his watch. Not sure his heart was ever really in it and suspect he came here seeing Adams struggling and thought he'd get the gig

No, not a surprise, but a disappointment all the same. What with this and Olsson asking to leave, there's some cause for concern about the new set-up. I hope I'm wrong, but I find it hard to see us getting any more than the play-offs now. Huge amount of experience and influence lost. Like I say, I hope I'm wrong.
