Should we use this game to try a new back three and give Jos and possibly Wes a well earned rest, It would be a tough ask to expect them to keep up their current levels imo.
Might as well start with Coates for a game, even though I don't rate him he should be more comfortable against a Championship strikeforce. Would also seriously consider starting Graham alongside Defoe, can't believe I'm saying this but he's actually impressed me with his workrate and hold up play in the last couple of games.
I'd give them a rest. I think it's about time they became back-ups anyway, so it's a no-brainer for me.
Wow, you really saw a different game to me. Bet Danny rose would love to play him again. He made two touches in his own half, stayed to the right and never tracked back while Danny Rose tore us to pieces. Now don't get me wrong, if he came on as an out and out forward than fair play stay up there in the danger areas, but played his time on the right and did **** all. His few passes went backwards, his chances were gifts, no attempted take ons, not attempted duels. One cross that was blocked when he had the space to angle it in. Piss poor imo.
Fair enough mate, I've only seen highlights of the Spuds game so you're probably better placed to comment. Was largely basing it on the logic that Fletcher and Wickham have done feck all lately either.
Aye, I'd sell them as well Don't get this looking sharp thing about Graham he came on with 15 minutes left and Rose sprinted past him with ease. Getting on the end of a couple of chances does not make him sharp imo. Looking at his heat map for that 15 minutes, he moved more than I thought but there's still strong marks where he was static while the ball is in play. Does a sharp striker who's fresh on the pitch stand there waiting for the team to regain possession or stand there waiting for the ball? Or does he use his fresh legs to make runs or chase down the opponents to regain possession? Love him to prove me wrong but I think he's ****e, and lazy.
Looks like it mate. Everybody seems as keen as Poyet. I think Mandron`s earned a go. Fletcher`s done nothing, Wickham`s done nothing, Graham`s done nothing, Altidore`s done nothing. What does it take?
I'd give Mandron game time, got more right to be making appearances than DG who couldn't give a **** with a string of Championship loans behind him where they don't even want him back.
Barca style.... ------------JOS Wes ---------------Catts Jones Rodwell Seb PVA ----------------AJ -----------Defoe Fletcher Back 4 is split by Catts, full backs push right on to wide midfield. Rod and Seb just have to keep it like Xavi and iniesta. Catts= Sergi Busquets AJ = Messi. Job done
I'd love to be there but will be working. I just hope we get a decent crowd, Defoe & Giacherini start & Fulham don't put 11 behind the ball. I was up for the Kidderminster game and felt sorry for their supporters. They came up in daft hats, fancy dress & really made the day. Sadly the team were 'well organised' and made the game difficult for Sunderland. Whatever happened to the 'minnows' going hell for leather for an upset and thrilling the travelling fans? Come on Fulham, get up here and go fkn crazy
On night shifts but will still be there..Will have have to go to the game in an unusual sober state though..
Why should the second of a front 2 track back? Billy Jones was to blame for Danny Rose's marauding IMO - Certainly not a centre forward who is playing as part fo a front 2's job in a 3-5-2! I was quite impressed with how DG put himself about. OK so he missed a couple of chances but who hasn't for us this season! Larson missed an easier one against the mags! FWIW - I wouldn;t want DG tracking back as it's not his job in that formation - you have 3 central midfielders and 2 wingback s who should be dealing with that (Amazing how much different we all see things isn;t it!) Sadly I can;t make it this weekend though - am gigging in Egremont (near Whitehaven!) and need to be there for 6!! Don;t fancy my chances opf making that journey in an hour from Sunderland on match day!!
What impressed me about Graham's performance was his ability to get into the right places. Yes, he missed one chance which he should scored and was very unlucky with another against Spurs, but he was getting himself in the right areas to have those chances which is something that we have been missing this season..
Why should forwards chase down defenders when chasing the game? Really Marcus? Because you're not going to score if your opponent has the ball. There should be as much willing to win the ball back as there is to tosomething with it when you have it. Clearly we want ourteam playing different ways. When we're getting beat I want us to regain possession, that means all players staying goal side of their and putting pressure on them to make a mistake or play it back over. Opinions and all that though.
