My vote over the past 60 years would go to Harry Reynolds then Leslie Silver and then if it turns out like I think it will Cellino

    Morning all,

I actually don't care if Cellino is dishonest, there's not one club owner who's squeaky clean.

Abramovich gets in bed with the Russian Mafia, Putin etc and Cellino fails to pay VAT on a yacht. Hmmm....let's see..who's worse?

As for tonight's game, just shows how far we've fallen when all we can hope for is to not lose by too many at home to mighty Bournemouth

Correct - Ken Bates last 4 years as owner saw your accounts show net profits of £10M http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....ort-overall-profit-increase-updated-1-4404726
Since he left you have lost £28M - So you are correct Elland - far more stable <applause>

TC you need to read the accounts properly mate. Bates only ever posted a profit based upon player sales. If you discount player sales we made a loss on each of his years in charge. Made a loss because the cash was syphoned offshore into shell companies. Read the note "After player sales"

Even so mate, your player sales weren''t £38M which is the difference since he left!
Your current owner had to make severe cuts to staffing levels as you were losing £1M per week - how did Bates afford to pay these people while syphoning money off - was there a golden goose that he took with him?

Bates also cost the club with his radio station and his lost court cases the man had no thought for the club other than to milk it

So you say - but Bates had all these extra costs that the current owner doesn't, and by your reckoning syphoned money to offshore accounts, spent fortunes on solicitors fees and redeveopment, yet still posted a profit - Cellino has stripped it back to the bare bones and you are making huge losses - how do you explain that?

TC you may remember the last time Bates took us into administration and he and his mates stole the club from other bidders, because FSF said they were owed £19m and would be the biggest creditor (Administrators didn't see this debt?) FSF said they would forget the debt if Bates was left in charge and that's just what happened. Ever since 2007 our accounts showed money was draining out in consultant fees to a company in Belize and another one in the Caymen islands, and even another Leeds Utd business was invoicing from Monaco. It was scam to get back the £19m and when Bates sold he had doubled the £19m and that's where your £38m comes into play. What Bates did was act in the interests of a creditor who got back 200% whilst the other creditors only got 4p in the pound.

This is a paragraph from David Conns article in the Guardian today:

Fans cast back at the club’s trials since its first financial collapse in 2002 and question why Cellino is the only owner to have faced any censure – and this for something to do with a yacht in a marina a long way from Yorkshire. The League’s employment of Shaun Harvey as chief executive – fresh from faithfully serving the Ken Bates regime at Elland Road, with its 2007 administration, undeclared offshore owners and adverse court findings of libel and harassment of the former director Melvyn Levi – has mystified Leeds fans. It has also led to suspicion, although the League has insisted it is only enforcing its rules and that Harvey has absented himself from the decision-making.

The £38M is post Bates debt mate - GFH did a years due dilligence remember!
Still doesn't explain how Bates could turn around 4 consecutive years of profits (all audited) and keep on the staff that the new regime could not, keep the training ground open all year, pay the wages on time, redevelop the ground, lose money on Yorkshire Radio and court costs and still have some left over to syphone off - but now all these expenses have gone, you are losing far more money - just doesn't add up!!

Bates v Cellino is a no brainer Bates was astute at managing people and money he may of had to sell the odd player or 2 to keep you going but no more <ok>
Cellino has and will take everything you have. massive job loses, training ground closure, sold your best players and replaced them with poorer cheaper quality, sacking managers by the dozen, team interfeering, the list is endless and will continue <ok>

With Bates you had a settled side with settled managers wheres all that gone <doh> Cellino is a fooking joke and well out of his depth <laugh>

How many of our ex players will end up in East Anglia/Suffolk. Paddy Kenny is on his way to Ipswich to link up with Hunt and the rest. Norwich have a few so should be a good catch up for them all to get together again for a drink
