yeah but he won a cup... who did that before or after (2006 last one) whatever you want lads but he's delivere donly silverware in anfield in the decade and its half over.... silverware is how i judge the club.
Surely it Mourinho. Only way he can win it is by spending **** load of cash and inheriting a great team full of European winners from Di Matteo and Rafa, and even then he threw away the league which they should have walked last year.
The money thing I won't even comment on, because the spastication inherent in that statement is clear for all to see. But I suppose its better than spending a **** load cash and say...finishing outside of the top 4.... When has Jose ever won the PL by inheriting a great team full of European Winners from Di Matteo and Rafa? He hasn't won the league since Rafa and Di Matteo managed us All those European Winners from our squad, like Juan Mata, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Jose Bosingwa, Salomon Kalou, John Obi Mikel and Ryan Bertrand? Tearing it up in the league for Chelsea this season are they? Only 3 of the XI that started in that CL final are still at the club And of those, only one (Cahill) is a first XI player for us this season.
So you're saying he had to buy £300m worth of talent to add to those players in order to get close to winning a title then
You see he didnt add to them, they went.....as well as buying players, clubs can sell them too. I wont mention the net spend...as a Liverpool and Rafa fan you will already be an expert on that.
All it proves is that Mourinho can't coach a side to the title like Di Matteo did to the CL title with his supposedly **** players like Mata, Lampard, Bertrard, Mikel & Kalou. Instead Mourinho needed to go and buy a load of other players instead
So big clubs came in and all those players went on to better clubs did they? Bertrard and Saints... Lampard off to NY on a free, Cole on a free, Kalou to Roma, Bosingwa? god knows... He didn't have to sell them, he chose to because he thought they weren't good enough, despite being good enough to win the CL... another example of Mourinho not being able to coach players who aren't already WC
So how much has your team improved from last season, after their massive summer spend? Surely owning everyone, since money always = success
You remember that same squad also finished 6th in the league right? The CL is a knockout comp, like the FA Cup.....
You really are missing his point We lost a key player but not through choice, we didn't decide he wasn't good enough, he decided he was too good if you like. Mourinho has bought every trophy he's won. Every single one of them. Him and Guardiola may be highly rated but until they do it at a club that's not expected to they will remain short IMO
Seriously Bod, do you honestly think you'd have had the success you've enjoyed over the last decade without Roman's money? Would City be in their current position without their sugar daddy? And please don't hit back with " but you've spent x amount, blah blah". Yes we've (mis)spent a lot of dosh, but being able to top it will almost always get you your man. We might offer £20m and £100k wage, but if someone else offers £20m and £150k wage,- guess who wins?
Porto were/are the richest club in Portugal and he bought all the best players there, plus as you've already said its a cup competition. Inter...? Have a word indeed!
No, only a ****ing melt would even argue that. My argument is Jose winning every trophy he has ever won by spending lots of cash is Bullshit. And winning the league by inheriting a squad of CL winners (which he never actually has) is even bigger Bullshit.
Which club did he win things without spending more than his rivals then...? The only argument you have is winning the CL with Porto but they still massively out spent their Portuguese rivals hand picking their best (who were very good at the time I might add) players.
Portugal was a 1 team league... Winning the Scottish league with Celtic is tougher! Inter had top class players and didn't their treble come when Juve were in the **** after match fixing and all Milan's best players were mid 30's like Nesta, Maldini etc
