Some amazing stuff today. AB de Villiers scored 149 off 44 balls against West Indies. Meanwhile Martin Kaymer blew a 10 shot lead in the Abu Dhabi Championship.
The AB de Villiers performance was nothing short of amazing. Pure sporting brilliance. I liked the fact that fellow big-hitter Chris Gayle acknowledged de Villiers efforts as he left the pitch too. Great sportsmanship.
Anyone watching the NFL on Sky? Amazing finish to the Superbowl semi-final, inside the last minute with everything happening...
Everton v WBA, currently 0-0 with 15 mins is a real cat & mouse game after Everton missed a penalty late in the 1st half. Perhaps a draw is the best result for us right now as it keeps them both within striking distance of our 19 pts on 23 & 22 pts respectively.
I would certainly be a lot more stressed if we were one of the teams involved late in the game. So, a point apiece it is.
Everton will be dragged into the fight at the bottom, no clear cut chances (except the penalty) and it appears no team spirit looking at Moralise (spelling) actions. I was impressed by west broms organisation and determination at the back.
Neither do I, but I do wonder if Everton possess the gumption or know-how in how to navigate their way through a relegation battle should they get sucked too far in.
If Baines was the designated penalty taker, as the more senior player he should have perhaps over-ruled Mirallas, grabbed the ball and taken the kick. In the past I recall sometimes a bit of discussion between Taarabt & Helguson on our penalty kicks, but glad this was not the case when Helguson scored this winner Loftus Road. "Kevin Mirallas has been taken off. He didn't appear to be injured. I wonder if he's been subbed because he wanted to take the penalty ahead of Leighton Baines and has been brought off for ignoring the manager's instructions?" "Sure what Mirallas did was stupid but why sub your best attacking player?" http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/30517003
