Southampton fan in peace, Just watchin SSN and see you have contacted Blackpool today about him. I still dont understand why you are so interested in him. He's an average PL player at best. Not the sort of player you should be signing if you want to get compete against Manure, Chelsa , City for the title.I mean their signing Young, Modric, Sanchez etc and your after Adam!?!? This post was in no way a dig at Liverpool, it just strikes me as odd. Being an outsider my self, just wondered what your thought were. Sotonsaint
Charlie Adams attacking side, team ethic and work rate is very good. His passing is also very good. But I worry about his defensive side. He has one of the worst tackles I have ever seen and his tracking back is poor. But I do think he can bring some thing profitable to the team.
He is "average" compared to who you could bring in. And as for £20 million for Downing!! Chelsea, United and City must be pissing them selves to sleep.
Sanchez is going to Barca, Modric is staying at Spurs while Young is not better then Valencia so will be sitting on the bench at utd. Adam is premiership proven and has elements to his game that the players you mentioned do not bring (like low wages and large resale value if he excels at Liverpool & he can create untold chances from set pieces) think about it (and this is one aspect of his game)... An average game could see Liverpool winning about 6 corners per game, Andy Carrolls heading ability is the best in the premier league, we also have Soto & Skertl who provide an aerial threat; also on the edge of the area we can have Gerrard, Meireles, Aquailani, Lucas or Suarez at anyone time waiting on any misplaced clearances. This scenaro will lead to goals which will in turn lead to points and this is just ONE aspect to Charlie Adam's game - and thats not mentioning Charlie Adam's Goal/Game ratio at Blackpool which is an impressive 1 goal in every 2.8 games. But don't let stats cloud your judgement we could just spunk £40m on a non-prem proven chilien winger/striker who is 3 years younger, has a goal game ration of 1 goal in every 4.7 games for udinase and who will no doubt try to force a move before he reaches his potential because he wont like the cold weather no thanks
His corners are worth £10 million.I looks we've done well.As I said in a previous article. Its obvious that we need a deep-lying play-maker,and now its looks like we've signed one.On the other article, its claimed we've now too many midfielders. What the ****?There would be bigger complaints if we hadn't enough. Complaints when we weren't spending money, complaints now that we are spending money. Are some people ever happy. It doesn't look like it.
Downing was better than Young for Villa last season, as voted for by those that watched both of them play week in week out. He has 2 years remaining on his contract, whereas Young had 1, and if we get him it'll be for only 3m more than Young went for. Both are a similar age too. So at what point would Man U be 'pissing themselves' over that deal?
It's ok he's going to change his name to Charlize Adaminho then he will be worth 40M and be the next big thing in the Prem.
Suarez. Good point. Kenny is strengthening areas of weakness.Fergie is making Mark Hughes type signings.''I'll sign him so nobody else can have him, even though he's no better than what we already have''. Yet its Kenny thats ridiculed.I've said all along,Kenny identifies areas of weakness and strengthens them. All signings must have a reason for them to be signed. He never makes pointless signings. You would never see him signing the likes of Niko Krancjar.
Also: Free Kicks. Adam left footed and Stevie and Suarez right footed. This will also add at least a couple of goals per season.
