I've not seen it officially but I understand Ken Furphy passed away over the weekend. I grew up watching him and his teams; he started my love affair with Watford so thank you Ken for all those great memories!
Yes - it seems he has passed away - sad too - the first manager to take us above the third tier. Like you Chris - he was there in my early Watford years
He had been ill for a long time and had retreated into his own little world which is always sad. He was the first manager that I remember who brought some hope to the fans that we could actually achieve something. His camping in the Lake district for pre-season training today looks laughable, but at the time it was quite a new idea.
I would imagine that everyone had read that - and it's the measure of the man that no-one could be bothered to comment...
any player that shows disrespect to his manager,team mates and the fans that pay his wages can go and rot in brum (no disrepect to that great club)

as a young 32 and losing his speed im sure most div 2 clubs will like to take him as long as they dont have to pay the wages he thinks hes worth
