If 3 other teams lose all the rest of their games..... Re the FFP thing, I suspect we are already plea bargaining Goldie. We joined a club with rules, even though we didn't have a say in writing them, don't really see how a legal case would work.
Yes Win or Lose together .. we will stay up and we will get a new manager for next season It's perfect Harold keeps us up but still gets the sack .. well in effect we don't renew his contract and he can then talk bollocks as he will but he is no longer associated with us We just did a head only predictor in my studio and QPR do survive and finish 16th It's the way the fixtures fall 3 to drop are Burnley, Hull and Leicester
Stan, my understanding is that there are competition arguments - that the FFP which was imposed on clubs against their will and had the effect of benefiting a few privileged clubs. Breach of natural justice etc. I'm sure an imaginative lawyer could make a persuasive case, and the authorities might not want to play Russian roulette by testing it in court or before an arbitrator.
We are talking about the FL FFP, which is different to the PL or UEFA rules. My understanding is that the Championship version of them were voted in by the clubs in the Championship at the time. I think several have thought again since, and they have been relaxed a bit, but most would love to see a big spending, poorly controlled club like ours kicked in the teeth and removed from contention for promotion as a result. But I agree, some lawyer could find a way to make cash out of this. Still suspect we will negotiate a settlement, and it will not be published. Perhaps we will give them Joey Barton and some Green Shield stamps.
Yep, makes sense. Given what you say about competing Championship clubs wanting their pound of flesh, keeping any settlement confidential may be a challenge.
FFS I am more pissed off than under Hughes..... at least we knew he would be going. We have now got 5 months of effing torture. Is TF back in the country yet as I still dont see our performance on Saturday as being near Liverpool, City, etc etc we didnt look like scoring..... I am QPR through and through but Arry sadly makes me want to keep away..............the discerning footy fan 100% thinks we have no chance under HR.......................thats what makes me effing cry......
Well, TF has just about guaranteed the drop now. Keeping Harry with nothing to spend can only result in the inevitable. The failure to beat Palace and Swansea could prove the beginning of the end. I'm not the only one on here who finds the quality (or lack) of our football the biggest disappointment since Harry was appointed. His teams had always played with a swagger and were easy on the eye, we are the exact opposite of those teams and that's the most damning indictment of Harry's reign. I'll continue to hope he performs the miracle and be 100% behind the team but it's through gritted teeth...
No big surprise mate. Still, at least you got what you wanted and who knows, maybe you'll be proved right in being happy with what Redknapp is delivering?
If you didn't know how our fixtures pan out you'd say we are in touch, knowing we've seven home games that we'll be lucky to get seven points from changes that perspective to virtually hopeless...
It's not the horse that's being backed that has the blinkers on, it's the punter who's backing it! It's a bad position with a worse situation around the corner - we cannot afford to go down and have a worse second half of the season ahead of us. We cannot afford to weigh ourselves down with additional debt but are struggling to make anything of the team we already have (that should be competitive but seem to hop between mildly enthused and utterly lacklustre). I'm all for continuity (I backed Hughes until near the bitter end) but what continuity do we have with a man that toys with retirement in the face of any adversity and, in footballing terms, is so old that he was throwing bones at monoliths in early pre-history. He's not going to last beyond the Summer whatever so what stability does keeping him bring except a smooth transition towards relegation and the potential obscurity that follows (with a new manager at the helm)? I could cry.
7.5 Million British Pounds Sterling is what this incompetent will have trousered to leave us in the same place we were heading to, but this time destitute and only Charlie to sell on. No wonder Fernandes wanted to keep Hughes. Fernandes' hands were tied on this one, he can't afford bad publicity of any sort right now, especially after his Air Asia is a family that sticks together comment immediately after the crash. I admire those of you that can keep this faith in the face of such overwhelming evidence that we are down. Feel free to chastise to kingdom come if this is pulled off- I love and want to see it happen, My eyes and mind just wont let me.
Our away form is what distinguishes us from others in the scrap with us. We have a chance to put that right and if we can sustain a goodish home record we can still be fine. There is not much in it. Why should any other of six teams do better than us? The manager we have has achieved as much and for longer. The decision has been made. No one can be certain. We are all on edge but ......... Now is the time to believe once again...... Just like in the last few minutes at Wembley before the miracle ! Down but not out......
Why is it only our fans who seem to be imploding? Be nervous, yes it's all very close. But to see so many of our fans acting like we're doomed makes me shake my head in shame. If that's what it's come to then we are well and truly doomed. Doesn't matter about Rednapp, Fernandes or Jude the ****ing cat, if it's our fans that are consigning us to a path of no hope, then the club is well and truly up **** creek.
I am there every ****ing home game supporting the team and every single player. I never boo and always give 100% support. This is a forum where we come to discuss/moan/complain etc. I think we are entitled to be more pessimistic than our rivals because we have had nearly all our easier home games and we haven't managed one single solitary point away from home! It's not the fans that are "consigning us to a path of no hope" it's Harry ****ing Redknapp! However, he is staying. We all know where we all stand on the bloke, so there's not much else to say really.
Yes, I don't think it's disloyal, given where we are, to hope for the best and expect the worst. I'll be at every home game too, shouting myself hoarse. I'll even be singing Harry's Blue and White Army in the hope it produces a miracle...
The fans are about the only good thing about this club at the moment. Don't know if you go to home games but if you do you would know that the support is solid even under the severest provocation. This place is all about sharing opinions, and if you think people expressing their frustration shouldn't be allowed I'm ****ing glad you dont have any influence over anything. I will continue to say whatever I want about anyone connected to the club, and for that matter anything else under the sun, whenever I can be arsed to. But it's good to know its my fault, not Redknapp's, Fernandes' or the players' if we are relegated. Thanks for that.
TF hands are tied, there is no alternative, Harry has got us into this and he needs to sort the mess out, you have 5 months Harry, get on with it
Something i also picked up on was 'its Harry's team". Those words have been carefully placed in that statement. Shuns some of the blame from TF and lets Harry know that as well. for me however the best line was: 'I firmly believe Harry is the best man to get us out of the position we currently find ourselves in'. The position he put us in.
