A lot of people should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves over what has now bcome something of a witch hunt. Absoutkey nobody can prove that Katrien lied and if anyone actually remembers well enough Curbs (Lord forgive me) was something of a drama queen. He was into self promotion, insisted upon being paid more than anyone else, did not really get on with Murray, he was never going to get the job and in my estimation did not want it. Paul Jewell really?, the guy shagged his mates wife and a tape found its way onto the Internet, he kept his t shirt and socks on. It was disgusting to watch and hardly a glowing testament of his long ball game.
And Luzon did not even take the game yesterday, so how is he to blame? Let's leave the monkeys alone and focus on the organs grinders eh? Murray and Roland.

Why do you call Murray the organ grinder? There's only one and that's Roland, invisible as he is. He's the brain behind the Network project, Murray's just his stooge.
I agree with Mr Typical. The fan was aggressive and posturing, using his physical prowess to intimidate Katrien and using an audience to try and embarrass her. She dealt with it incredibly well and also quite rightly rebuked him over questions as to the names of those who applied for the post which is confidential as is the case for any applicants who apply for jobs.
I'm not sure that is right. As I understand it, Muzza own 10% of the current 'Charlton Athletic' plus has a loan still to be paid back by the club. Ther is also some deal involving premiership payments. He is the public face of CAfC not Katrien. We never know which face we get. then he said "the club is in safe hands with Roland" yeah right.
Where is he? Why can't he explain his part in this fiasco? Why arent the flying monkeys turning on him? He has been rubbing his hands for months now. I bet he would sell us to a life science if he thought he would get his money back.
You're right Typical (can't do all the bits you've stuck on your name), no one can 'prove' Katerin lied. However, the saving point for her is that she was just acting as a Patsy for King Roland, and is now taking the flak. The timescale however, as the guy on the train pointed out, says the club's versión of events, and those Katerin aired at the press conference, are wrong. According to her, within an hour of making public the Peeters sacking, CAFC were in possession of twenty applications for the post. According to her, Luzon was not the only one interviewed, and he was the best candidate.
The only way an owner can normally deal with sacking someone on a sunday night, recieving x applications, interviewing them (even the top five) and taking a rational decisión (in this case, championship experience was obviously not a worry) and negotiating salary and so forth, is if the owner is basically appointing one of his mates, and took the decisión at the same time he sacked the previous manager. Technically, I'd say RD paid for Charlton, and can pretty much run it as he pleases until one of us stumps up the cash to take it off his hands BUT that's not what was offered at the press conference. Plus the whole work-permit thing is a fairly gormless episode.
I don't think Katerin deserves abuse for that, and I've said before I have nothing but praise for her travelling with the fans, and I've already said I thought the guy asking the questions was rude, considering he could hardly claim to be a friend of hers. But I thought the questions were valid, and the anger, while misdirected, was both controlled and justified (the rumour on CL is that it went on for another 15 minutes, and turned ugly with some pond life calling her a Belgian c**t, which is a disgusting thing considering she was travelling alone on a train in the company of 'fellow' fans).
As I said on another thread, I'm a Charlton fan, and expect to be lied to and have my support taken for granted on a regular basis, but that does'nt make me daft, and also does'nt mean I don't resent the fact that this time, the tale the club have spun us is about as believable as something from a Disney animation. It does'nt justify abuse, but it's a real own goal in public relations.

It seems quite a minor incident, no-one got hurt and Katrien didn't seem to me to be in tears at all. She must know what sort of boss she's working for, she knows how the fans reacted at Liege, and she must know that Bob's sacking, followed by Luzon's appointment, was reported in the Israeli press over a week before it happened. So thank goodness the anger of the fans is being directed where it should be- at Roland himself. The fact that he's never anywhere near Charlton to take responsibility is just going to cause even more anger, especially when Katrien states that Charlton fans have to accept Roland's way. Sorry but we don't, I can't at present see myself renewing my season ticket, especially if Charlton are going to play more home games on fridays next season.
The guy hasn't done anything noble or even handle it in a positive manner. I was impressed by Katrien given the circumstance and way in which the Cafc fan went about it. The whole issue/s, questions etc and all that we are frustrated with was hardly going to be clarified or solved here, just made some interesting watching.
the guy in the video has just said on twitter that she had 2 security with her - so intimidation isnt a factor. she just didnt have answers it seems.
It was leaked by Rick Everitt on CL. It was discussed at the Fans' Forum meeting. Katrien put forward the idea, the fans' reps said the fans would be against it, Katrien replied that the club intended to go ahead with it anyway.
I remember it being mooted when Roland first took over, and thought the idea had died a death, but not so, it seems.

This goes bigger than Charlton. The football league and sky want more Friday games. Super Sunday and the return of Monday night football has pushed them down this route.

Who travels to Watford with security? Perhaps he mistook the elderly gentleman in a Parker as a former member of the diplomatic protection squad. The event was recorded and where were the security? Three people on CL were on the train and don't mention security - no does fat chops until today

well, as he was there, i'd tend to believe him more so than people on CL. on the video you cant see who was sat opposite or next to her. why would she go to a game on her own?

Who not only did not step in nor make themselves known to protect their client but magically only identified themselves to fatso. A regulated security guard has a duty to identify themselves if indeed they are acting in that capacity - did they badge fatso?

i have no idea, i was just saying what he has said on twitter. i doubt it was her dad and brother. i can barely get my missus to go and i tell her she's obliged by "rule of proxy", so why would her dad and brother up sticks from Brussels to come watch a team in se7?
