Talk of a Russian billionaire buying them and it seems the current board don't want to spend money if it's not going to be their club at the start of the season. It's a mess there, the fans are protesting about the prices, the manager's not being allowed to sign anyone and it looks like Abdul Tantrum is on his way. Happy days.
what really annoys me is bullard wanting his contract paid off so he can move clubs, despite the fact we will let him go for free anyway.
ayup kempton, good to be back and posting after leaving that absolute shambles behind, they wrecked the functionality of the site and its mostly a bunch of eggchasers and numpties on there now. my dad told me a lot of the same faces were on here. if the board gave any consideration given to offering jb a 6figure pay off to leave, im pretty certain that he could be allowed to do one on a free. for a return to the 'bigtime' would he consider any kind of paycut, i feel the answer is no. would be interesting to see if his return to pre-season has brought about any 'clear the air' talks but if NP caught any interview he gave in the closed season i wouldnt imagine he'd have been thrilled about having him back in the mix. my gut feeling is that if we dont shift him he will be a fixture on the subs bench until january then loaned off to a prem club for 50%+ of his wages. oli is a different story as with his injury/rehab taking place it doesnt make him very appetising so would imagine he'll be staying for the season. COYH
Wonder how many Bullard threads have been setup on here since January, another one saying he could be on his way, can hardly credit it!
You are making huge assumptions. First QPR are one of the richest clubs around. Their transfer budget won't be dictated by the sale of Taarabt. Second the valuation QPR put on Bullard won't depend on how much money they have, it will relate to his ability, age, injury risk etc. Third Bullard will be only one of many targets they have and they will feel in no way pressured to go for Bullard or Oli. To sum up a good attempt to cheer us all up, but no substance at all.
if we where to somehow get bullard off the wages..could we not sustain oli's for a season and have him in our engine room? ive said it before and ill say it again, him and koren involved in the centre turns us from a mid table also ran, to an outside shot at the play offs, imo.
Oh really you think ? I never make assumtions or indulge in idol gossip. May i suggest you take a cup of coffee and wake up to what is going on around you. QPR are a mess full stop. But then if you did better research you would know this fact. Forget who the owners are now as they want out. QPR could well be under new ownership soon and maybe a new manager with new ideas. But if Warnock stays I expect (from whats been said) that Bullard will go. As for the QPR transfer budget ? It appears that the current owners wont spend a penny.
Im pretty sure the reason QPR are having difficulty signing players is because they have stated they will not be held to ransom and set a wage ceiling of 15-20 grand a week. Wish we had done that!!
I don't drink coffee, I'm a hot chocolate man actually (not the group). Anyway whoever is in charge of QPR come the new season they are going to spend big to compete in the Prem. Watch this space and we will see how much they spend in this window. But that doesn't effect the Bullard situation because either Warnock or any other manager aren't going to spend over the odds on an injury risk like him. My guess is that if they take him on a permanent we will have to subsidise it in some way and there is no chance of a transfer fee.
QPR will be sold out every week regardless of the season tickets they sell. They've not signed anyone except the 3 contract renewals partly as a result of the possible takeover seeing them have a massively increased transfer budget. The Russian guy we (the people on the QPR site I use) reckon is bollocks but that the Mittals are trying to buy out BE and FB's share. The kit won't be launched before the sponsor is in place, and the only reason they don't have one yet is because they chose to terminate their contract with Gulf Air due to the situation in Bahrain and it being the Bahraini national airline. As for their wage budget, Rowan Vine is going to be on £25k/week with them if he doesn't join Doncaster (where he's on trial at the moment).
Did not expect this thread to be so apt so quickly. But latest news has 3 linked with moves. Glad that Hull City are playing hardball with QPR. If they are serious then they pay his full wages for the season.
