Can't give Aluko anything. He needs to realise that his left foot is not just for standing on. Alex Bruce MOM followed by Quinny then Chester.
Aluko Chester The rest was poor don't get the love in with Quinn he is ****e , ok if we go down a division but never a premier league footballer
you clearly never went - Junior was gash although Brucie was stupid giving him the job of marking Carrol as he was totally out of his depth - didnt help when Junior twice barged into our players, lost the ball and knocked it straight the their team - ridiculous starting team - should have played Macca at right back next to Chester and put Junior on the bench - as for putting Maguire at centre back, then playing him at centre forward and then playing him at centre back again over a 15 minute period in the second half was bizarre - oh yeah, Meyler rounding everyone, getting into their penalty area and running it out for deadball was laughable Chester Aluko - but no end result Quinn - ran out of steam in the end
So Bruce Jnr was the sole reason they didn't score in the first half? Bollocks, he was bang average today, the game was lost in midfield not at the back. It wasn't a surprise we didn't score, we didn't play with any strikers and played a CM up front. As not ready for the first team as our youngsters are, it doesn't give them much to aim for if we're playing a CM out of position instead of giving one of them a go. Aluko - was half decent, but he clearly needs to work on his finishing. Chester - Injury curtailed his performance, going to miss him. Quinn - Was aright, agree with the others though; him, Meyler, Bruce, Sagbo and Figueroa aren't good enough for this league. We're carrying far too much Championship quality for a PL side. I don't care if they took us to a final, we're in ****ing trouble and they aren't the ones who are going to pull us out of it.
you could hardly say Bruce was playing in the first half he was that bad - not content with just passing to the opposition, he upped his game today to barge into our own in order to give the opposition the ball
So how **** were the midfield but you choose to single Bruce out as does Charon on and on and ****ing on.
The midfield were also ****, but you made out that Bruce was making a difference to the scoreline, when in reality he was doing what he always does, just enough to get by.
Quinn - actually had a decent game and used the ball pretty well. Chester - looked good in the role and was starting to move forwards well. Aluko - a reluctant choice because his flashes of brilliance were wasted through lack of end product (apart from his pass to Elmo).
Agree definitely bollocks, like people who claim we'd have won the FA cup of Bruce had of stayed on. I'm sure Bruce's presence would have made the referee signal for a goal kick rather than a corner.
How can anyone criticize a team of 'band-aids'? Half that team would not have been on the pitch if our 'first choice' players were fit and not injured. All credit to Aluko who came out and played like his @rse was on fire but with nobody with him to play to there was only brick walls for him to eventually run in to. Will be dynamite in the Championship but has (sadly) no end product at this level. There couldn't possibly be a "Man of the Match" from what is, in reality, a reserve team out of their depth. With Chester looking like he's gone for a while and Bruce injured (yet again) we must have the greatest injury list (this season) in the history of the game. Steve Bruce must be crying in his corn-flakes every morning the poor sod!
Chester...outstanding in first half. Got forward well. His injury changed the game Aluko...worked his socks off. Poor decision making on the final pass kills his effectiveness Bruce....shut them down at the back. His injury opened the door. Game over. Good first half performance overall. But the second half injury curse struck again.
I thought your post was excellent, then you went and spoilt it, Roo. It was a Band-Aid team and I thought that first half they were giants, but second half their vulnerability was exposed by a couple of cruel injuries and a lightweight skipper. But come on, the lads took to the field and many really tried hard, so a Motm is totally appropriate, not to is an insult and they didn't deserve that. We agree on Aluko.
