On the Stephen Warnock thread I have posted why I believe he might have well been on £25k a week with us. Sniffing around reports I found an article in the Gaurdian: Leeds signed Noel Hunt from Reading last summer, on £25,000 a week according to Cellino, and the forward has not managed a single goal. They also paid £1m to sign Luke Murphy from Crewe – "I don't remember his name," Cellino said – and bumped him up from £1,700 a week to £22,000. "Are you ****ing crazy?" Cellino asked. So if I am reading this right Murphy is on £22k a week? If that is true we are stuck with him for quite a while. I would have said not in a million years would Murphy be on that figure but after realising Warnock probably is then why not Hunt and Murphy and what was Ross on before he left?
McContract was probably jealous of Warnock being on 40K a week. 40K a week = 2.080 mill a year and ties in with the salary amount on wikipedia.
that figure ties in with my calculation that we will save £1m on Warnock over the rest of his contract
Purely as a coincidence a quote of the obvious by chippy (quoter of totally obvious quotes). As the nights start to draw out it is possible to turn the house lights on later and later each day. In the summer you can leave lights off until 9.30 pm. Remarkably this means you can use less electric on lighting in summer than winter.
Well Ross said a number of times that he wasn't the highest paid player at the club. I dont actually doubt that, my understanding was that Warnock and Hunt were both on 25k with a few on around the 20k mark (probably Murphy, Ross, Morison, Kenny, probably Tonge as well and maybe even Wootton would be on a bit). No wonder we were having financial problems.
I don't care how much they earn, the wages are mental, But I do care if they can do their job, I,e. Play footbaal and score goals, Seems none of them can do it, Should they get paid?
