Indeed, the very stats he is using to plump RVN ahead of Henry, put Lampard streets ahead Scholes, wonder how much faith he places on those stats when it comes to that comparison :p

I think in overall terms rvn was a better striker but in purely premier league terms, Henry is second only to ronaldo. Many people would have a decent argument for him being the best individual of them all on our league.

And while lampard was a great player scholes was playing more as a creative and controlling midfielder. Goals were a bonus and often spectacular but his best work was making things happen. Lampard was expected to score more because of chelsea lack of quality strikers. Their hit rate on that front has been off compared to other areas. Drogba and costa aside, the rest havent lived up to expectations. Lampard has capitalised by providing a constant and reliable goal threat. I rate him ahead of gerrard in this classic as debate his contributiom has led to far more. You dont become a clubs top scorer without contributing more than most.

RvN was a good goal poacher, but like you say he basically used to hang around the 6 yrd box and get a lot of tap ins on the back of other players hard work and defensive mistakes.

Henry was a architect. He used to create his own chances and those for others. He could turn a team around from our own 18 yrd box and completely tear them apart before finishing with aplomb. He scored sublime goals and did it all with flair and style. The complete team player, he also used his height to defend corners.

To compare him to RvN is like comparing a Ford Mondeo to Porchse 911.

Whether you agree or disagree with him, KS is spot on with this.

Calling to ban him lol. Some of you gooners typify the club you support. No backbone for a fight and screams of injustice.

I say protect freedom of speech!

You should have carried on <ok>.

Overall means his career. Rvn performed at multiple clubs to a very high level where as Henry wasnt great at monaco and juventus but excelled at Arsenal. He was a level below at barcelona (still very good though).

At their very best, Henry was better easily. Over their entire career? Van nistelrooy was as prolific season after season. His level never dropped. Probably as he lived inside the 18 and saved on energy. <laugh>

Henry played on the wing at Barca and was still a key player.

One wonders about the ideology of these idiots, one imagines that they must have been brain dead to accept such ideas let alone repeat them in public. I remember seeing one of Henri's first game as a sub late in a game at the bridge and although he did little of note that day he emerged into a world class player who was capable of making or scoring fantastic goals.

I hate the bastard because he tortured us every time we played them and I'm convinced that's why God gave us Drogba to address the balance. :bandit: By the time Henri moved on Arsenal had had the best of him although he was still better than the horse that the other idiot raves about.

in every poll across all fans Henry wins as the best premier league player of all time. there will always be those that think differently for personal and bias reasons but across a wide fan base the answer is always the same. Ruud Van Nistelrooy did well for us at Real but i can say that as a fan i never thought of him as a top all round player, more a goal scorer with little else to his game. He does not even closely compare to the current crop of Ronaldo, Benzema and Bale.

Exactly but you have to take into account that these are united fans we are talking about so anything they say must be taken with the contempt it deserves.

Precisely. Because Ronaldo is voted as better than Henry on some polls, that makes RVN better than Henry.

Drogba has no place in this debate. This is about the best strikers. Drogba was someway behind the greats like henry, rvn and shearer.

Who here has said van nistelrooy was better in the premier league? Not me. Considering i have henry as one of the two best PL of all time. You goons should take up the art of reading. <ok>

Outside of the premier league is a different story. Henry was very underwhelming at monaco and juventus. In fact everywhere bit arsenal has resulted in him being shifted out left. He was very good at barcelona on the left but not so much at juventus or in france.
