If Fat Sam prefers Carlton Cole to him, I'm guessing that Zarate is a bit ****.

Same reason as he brought in Maiga, Doyle, Morrison, BAE, Hughes, Benyoune (spelling), Keane plus others that I can't recall at this time of night last season, Harold answer to every problem is more players......

I thought it was because he'd fallen out with Sam?

Hammers fans seemed pretty pissed off that he'd left.

Not bringing him on was just another page in the baffling book of Redknapp's tactics.

Arry said earlier that we need to get a striker on loan.
Obviously Zarate has failed to impress in training.

Well perhaps he should have a look before he buys. A good second hand car dealer Like Harry would. Surely. Perhaps Zarate has put on weight. Perhaps he is always late for training and he is therefore not the right sort. Perhaps it's hard you know getting someone good in with the financial restrictions being imposed. But not to worry. Harry knows what he's doing. He will tell some of his mates among the journos. Probably after he's been asked the questions about player injuries and when we can expect them back. And why he is playing Taarabt, why he is not playing Taarabt or why he brought him on only for the last 15 minutes.

Let's not forget, we are not exactly an attractive prospect for half decent players.
Do you remember when players were joining because they were persuaded that they were joining an active project, a club with some vision and direction and the money to implement those ideas?
Now? Defoe was reported as stating we are a joke of a club plus we have wised up to not paying huge wages demanded by transfer targets who are rejects of other PL clubs. Having said that, I do wonder whether coughing up for Borini in the summer might have set us in a better direction than we are currently travelling.
Whatever the intensity of the debate on this message board, I am certain that is nothing compared to the discussions at Board level as wealthy men watch their investment in jeopardy.
Either way, interesting days ahead I am sure.

Harry keeps saying striker, but he meant an "up front man" and I think he means somebody more like Bobby up front than a proper goal-paoch type striker. He wants another hold-up man up front in place of Bobby. I guess Zarate is not.

Obviously the board have concluded that going mad in the transfer window is a sure way to waste yet more of their money. The only hope of getting their investment back is by building some flats near a railway station. If that project goes tits up, or they discover they don't need to an include a football stadium in it, watch this space.

You wonder just what the board are doing. If they are 100% behind Harry they'd be letting him bring in the players he needs, if they're not why aren't they replacing him? Palace and West Brom acted quickly at the right time to get their chosen men and I've absolutely no doubt that by March they'll be well clear of the bottom five.

TF has been distracted by the AirAsia disaster but there has to be a structure in place that deals with critical decisions swiftly and at the right time. When Bony banged in that last-minute equaliser for 10-man Swansea the axe should have fallen.

I'd have gone with Hoddle for the rest of the season, he'd have got the best out of our flair players and with one or two shrewd additions we'd at least have had a chance, as we are at the moment our chances of staying up are diminishing on a daily basis...

I've only recently realised that it is Crouch we need
= Bobby's hold up for Charlie plus a few goals
    Quite cheap
    Loves the club
    Would put a shift in
Always looks OK when we play against him
We can't afford or won't get much better
Would do for the next 18 months

Good call but Hughes won't let him go and why would he as per all the factors you've correctly listed?

There was stuff in the airline trade press with Fernandes saying he was stepping back from QPR to focus on Air Asia, even before the crash. Then Redknapp says he's spoken to him on the phone 5 times this week (let's make that twice given Redknapp's problems with numbers). I think Fernandes just says whatever he thinks will keep the audience in front of him happy.

It may be that the board have decided not to spend any cash whoever the manager is. And Palace and West Brom seem to have picked up with no new signings.
