Just been out for a run to clear the head (laid low for the last 4 days with flu). Going for a shower now and whilst there I shall be pondering a man-sized bet on Jessica Harrington's Modem in the Boylesports hurdle. Jessie knows what it takes to win this with a progressive young horse, having done so with Citizenship in 2012 and Studmaster in 2006 (I won't mention Dance Beat I in 1996 as that would imply things about the good lady's age which would be ungentlemanly of me). Modem fits the bill perfectly, having finished a fine 3rd on handicap debut in a similar event over Christmas (carrying 11-05) he is raised just 2lbs to 123 and gets in here off 10-03. I'd prefer Geraghty on board but I don't know whether he can do 10-03 and he probably also owes Michael Buckley a favour or two so has been claimed for his runner.

    Lucky Bridle 20/1 e.w (2.50 Leopardstown)

7lb claim from young Mullins should do this the world of good in the context of this race and can hopefully make the frame at big odds. Will be fresher than most.

Tough-looking opener at Kempton (13:05) but have taken a chance with Salvado.

Sorry to spoil your day Toppy, but I too thought that 20-1 about a lightly raced Mullins horse that won easily LTO was not to be missed!
Not too late to cash out your bet though and only lose 10% <laugh>

EDIT: with apologies also to Ron who posted first :)

Better from Vautour, quickened a little better.

Still don't think he looks a complete natural as a chaser yet but he can improve.

Vautour is a fine racehorse, just lovely to watch. Surely the fat cat banker won't be talked into the inferior novice race at Cheltenham.

Unlucky Oddy, nearly a man sized payout. Still nice return though. Well done Cracker with the 16/1 winner at Kempton too. Oh and Ste's info is absolutely blinding at the moment.
