He told me that if I sent him £1000 he would ensure the crown prince of Nigeria could give me the £10,000,000 I had loaned him and forgotten about. He hasn't conned me has he?

Warning, do not read the following quotes or click the link if you love Cellino, it will only hurt you ;) <ok>

    http://leedsallover.com/cellino-talks-but-is-it-what-we-want-to-hear/?

Mirco Antenucci, a now 30 year old forward at Leeds, was offered a 2 year deal, just a month before his 30th birthday. Now, this keeps within Massimo’s rules, that’s fine, despite Antenucci technically having a 23 month contract from the age of 30.

I would now like to draw attention to the watermelon reference, again. A manager is not a watermelon, Massimo. You don’t just “find out what they are like when you open them”. You scout for coaches just like you would do for players. Then again, that may explain his ‘stab in the dark’ policy for player recruitment, I guess.

Later on in the interview it was revealed that Cellino said – “The main thing I have learnt is that the Championship is a lot harder than the second division in Italy.” Brilliant. Finally, he is learning from his mistakes. Yes? Well why are we still being linked with rejects from the Italian leagues then?

“I know who I am and I am not a dishonest guy. When I came to England, I saw it as the country of justice and fairness.” Well, I beg to differ. Here are just some of the offences Massimo has been involved in since taking over in Cagliari, just over two decades ago: Defrauded the EU out of £7.5million, evaded import duty on 2 yachts, failure to pay import duty on a range rover, may have possibly embezzled funds during the Stadium saga back in Italy, the same case may face a corruption trial, he was accused of doping offences and using violent threats against his own players, was involved in and/or had knowledge of match-fixing in Italy during two separate seasons and he avoided paying tax during the sale of two players. So, is Massimo that honest of a man? Really? If Massimo miraculously wins this current appeal, or if he does return to Leeds in March, I predict nothing but issues for our beloved club. Unwanted, doubt-increasing issues.

Reading the last paragraph I think Glory must have wrote it...

The author is so proud of his work that he hasn't even bothered to give his name. Even his links to Twitter don't work. It's not a piece of journalism to be admired. It's just common or garden opinion that can be found on sites such as ours. It carries no authority whatsoever.

you are living in a dream world if you think it is better to get cellino out of elland road , 1 main thing leeds utd need and ALL CLUBS need is money and cellino HAS money ,at least cellino had the balls to put his money where his mouth is !!! thats more than i can say for local business men who would not offer as much money and would bleed the club dry of funds as did risdale ! long live cellino at leeds utd and i would like to see what you have to say when leeds utd eventually get promoted to premier league !

    He seems have a gift.

He fools those who want to be fooled. Ask yourself these questions, the answers should be the real figures not the headline figures or just the figures after all outgoings are eventually paid, they have to include the income and asset value to mean anything.

How much has he actually spent?
    Buying the club
    Buying players
    Runing the club

    ".............................................................................................................

    How much has he made?
Income from fans ( tickets/ hospitality/ merchandise / TV money
    How much from transfers out?
    Now the big one
How much is his asset worth, how much will he get when he sells?
    .................................................................................................................
Now tell me how much money he is in the hole for?

As he is here as a speculator, how much would LUFC be worth as a pl club? That is the calculation all these foreign owner/investors are making. In the scheme of things it is a small investment for a huge potential return. Always, always follow the money, and never forget that modern owners are neither fans of their clubs or the game in general. That's what sky money did to football.

Cellino kept paying wages to under performing players when he took over and leeds would have gone under if he had not stepped in , how much would you put into a club that you was not even sure you would still be in charge of in the following months ? it does not matter what he personally makes as that is why he investewd as an investor in the club so good luck to him, he has brought in anderlucci who nobody can say he is a skillful player and scored goals as one of the italian players , he also has contacts within the italian game to bring in players not just of the quality now but when leeds go up he will bring in top italian players to leeds, and at last leeds utd have an owner who has got money ask yourself where would chelsea be now or man city if they did not have money ? now leeds have so be glad of it instead of knocking cellino !

    Chippy,

I don't think he's made anything yet, investors invest for the longer term. All clubs values goes up once in PL, they tend to drop with relegation too.

He ain't here to rip us off, but he is here to also make a return on his investment, as anyone would be.

I t hink he has hardly spent anything . His limited investment has come from the revenue streams ( our money and transfer fees on players bought using our money from seasons gone by). I understand speculate to accumulate, but he ain't fulfilling his side of the arrangement.

I don't believe he is in it to rip us off I totally agree with you on that one but have you wondered why he brought into us?

He doesn't love us, he isn't very understanding of the English game or laws, we are simply his toy. Some of us used to or still do play Championship manager, Leeds United is his real life version.

He hasn't the skills or coaching badges to mange us in the conventional term so his ego and fun comes from investing in players that he thinks will do well and who can make him a profit in the future, a bit like a trader on the stock mark.

If he signs us a player for £1m and his value shoots up he is sold because Cellino believes he has the talent and ability to bring in more of equal quality.

On the business side of things he has come in and done what any business man would have done with average ability, it doesn't take an Alan Sugar or Richard Branson to see where the holes need plugging. He looked at the wage bill, took a dislike to the high wage earners and got rid of them one by one.

I wouldn't mind betting on playing staff, manager and coaches alone we are saving the £1m we were losing a month. Add to that the loan on ticket sales finishing at the start of this season and the other cost cutting exercises such as ditching the radio station and I honestly believe the club are probably making money each month now.

It is reported that the sale of Ross left the club with around £9.5m profit after costs and Cardiff were paid, Smith was another £500k and as Cellino hasn't paid a £6.5m payment to GFH I truly doubt he is out of pocket in the slightest. We were not really losing money under Bates, it was just Bates finding ways to syphon it out.

GFH were a shambles and they too were only in it for their investors, if we were still losing massive amounts would GFH be willing to keep their 25% share or would they get out? Remember they are an investment bank, they have their investors expectations to consider.

All opinions of course, just remember two facts, we are 5th in the attendance charts, we have have signed 15 players this season on lower than average wages, we have had it drummed into us for so long that we have to save money and that we have none it has become a habit to continue believing that.

YES Cellino did come in at a time that probably saved us from going under when nobody else was willing to but so did Bates and do we have any love for him left? NO of course we don't and rightly so.

Another point or question - I don't know how his other businesses do or how he pays his taxes, any losses he builds with us in the early stages can surely be written off against his profits elsewhere?

Don't you ever get tired of re-hashing the same stuff time & time again, Ristac? One thing that particularly annoys me is that you've re-stated that we've received £9.5m profit after expenses and payment to Cardiff. Bollocks. You've been told time & again that this is not even remotely accurate. Let me have a stab at it here. I'm not suggesting for a moment that all of my figures are accurate, but my illustration is a damn site more accurate than yours. Here goes:

Figures based on transfer fee of £11m

    ...........................................................Deduction.......Balance
    VAT @ 20%.........................................£2.2m............£8.8m
    Cardiff Share @15% (of £8.8m)..........£1.76m..........£8.06m
    Agent fees (wild estimate)...................£0.8m............£7.26m
    'Fulham promoted' payment (33%).....£2.42m..........£4.84m
    2nd insallment (33%)..........................£2.42m...........£2.42m
    1st installment (33%)..........................£2.2m.............£2.42m

Now I've guessed the structure of this contract, but I'll bet that the monies we've received this season are closer to my £2.42m estimate than your £9.5m. AND I reckon that I've probably missed out a number of other deductables, but hey!, I'm only trying to demonstrate that your £9.5 figure is not only a load of pish, but totally unreasonable to expect.

So you think Cardiff and the agent get paid in full but LUFC dont, run that one by me WJ?

Are you sure that transfers arnt quoted vat free as the buying club claims it back?
