    Lippy whatever son............<ok>

Anyway back to footy was trying to work out why Monk went with 4-4-2, and I can only think that he has no confidence in Gomis holding the ball up front in our usual 4-5-1 formation, but the point is that Gomis is a diffrrent type of striker, and we need to adjust our game to fit.............<ok>

Lib - we all get it; you think Laudrup was treated badly and you have a point - but why all the smileys? You seem to be reveling in our misfortune and I find that hard to swallow from a fellow Swan.

I also get it that you don't like Garry Monk and have a hard on for Laudrup but get behind the team ffs! The great Dane is not our manager any more and, as grateful as I am for everything he achieved with us (arguably our most successful manager and a thoroughly decent guy), Monk is our manager now - a rookie on a very steep learning curve, but cannot fault his passion or commitment - and we should all support him!

I have been unhappy with many decisions over the 40 years I have been following the Swans, but I have never let that diminish my support for the team - I will turn up and shout myself hoarse regardless of who is in charge, whether I like them or not!

Laudrup is part of our glorious past - Monk is our present and future so, as in the words of Disney's Frozen, 'Let it go!' United we stand, divided we fall, and I am getting the distinct impression that you would be extremely happy if Monk fails spectacularly and I find that very hard to take!

We all have our favourites, and all get star struck now and again; I couldn't believe it when I heard that the legend that is Michael Laudrup was to manage our 'little old' Swansea, but also acknowledged the fact that he had taken us as far as he wanted to - Monk will never have that star quality, but he is honest, sincere and lives and breathes Swansea City - today's defeat will hurt him far more than it hurts us and he will do his utmost to make sure this afternoons abject performance won't be repeated. I, for one, will be right behind him and will be vocal in my support - he may be a rookie, but he is our rookie!

I want him to succeed, will support him in his attempts to succeed, and also stick by him if things turn to **** - today we were beaten by an exceptional team of footballers but wonder if the result would have been any different if we had had £600,000,000 worth of talent on the pitch as well! ;)

So in conclusion Lib - I understand your pain, Laudrup was a bit of a hunk so appreciate your man crush, but please also cut Garry a bit of slack and support the team - maybe use the smileys when we win, and use less of them when we lose and acknowledge the fact that Monk is still on a steep learning curve, will make mistakes, but has the best interest of our club at heart!

until you guys get backinto the real world will you never ever understand football. Its no good you ever try and justify your rubbish because we will laugh at you. we were taken apart by a far superior team end of...there is no dispute so stop your bullshit as we laugh at how stupid you look and that's a fact. Chelsea today took us for what we are an also ran and they gave us a good lesson on what it takes to really be a big team, they beat us not fair and square but so easy and that to me is fair and square...stop kidding yourselves we are better than we are or i will make you look a fool every time ....

Quite a stream of consciousness Dai! You been drinking? ;) But agree with what I think you are saying - today was a reality check; we are not top 5 - neither are we bottom 5 but we will always find it hard against £600,000,000 worth of mercenaries! Was relieved we kept it to 5 today - could have been a lot worse - but will always stay in the stadium 'til the bitter end! Was disappointed that so many left so early - if you can't support the team for the whole game then piss off and let someone else, who is prepared to make full use of the ticket, stay in the seat for the whole match!

No disputing that Dai, but even by our own standards we should have given a far better account of ourselves, and we are capable of better, that's the issue that you are ignoring..........<ok>

Absolutely agree Dai!!! Was an uncomfortable afternoon but had to applaud some of the Chelsea play! Is a privilege to be competing at this level but we have to understand that sometimes we will get well beaten by teams like Chelsea! No shame in that - just a fact of life! :)

Now today I did witness fans leaving the stadium in droves, Dai, at around the 80-minute mark when the 5th went in.

To be fair, though, the fans gave the team tremendous support in the second half even when there was never any possibility of a comeback.

Such a long winded and totally unnecessary post, but hey,you went to the great bother of creating it,so I guess I should respond.

I agree with you,Laudrup was treated badly, the word I used at the time was shabbily, but he was more than adequately compensated for his "pain".

I use smiley's occasionally to relieve my "pain", to make a point,or to just take the p.
I wasn't aware that the use of smiley's was a matter for general concern.
Should I henceforth defer to you,or others, prior to their use?
Perhaps some people need to get a life.
I'll let you work out why I used one on the occasion that has so clearly offended you.

Don't be so presumptuous as to assume that I am "revelling in our misfortune".
How can you possibly know how I feel,or what I think? Based on a few words posted here? The use of a smiley, that you find offensive? Give me a break.

I am not one of the sheep who blindly follows the lead of others, lest they be singled out and ridiculed.

Too many posters think they occupy the higher ground, and have a more valid opinion than anyone else.
Well guess what - THEY DON'T - not in my world.

Please feel free to find a post of mine where I openly criticise Monk, and one where I state that I don't like him.

Others,i.e.,his supposed fan club, are now heavily criticising him,as I knew they would when the heat got turned up,and boy,did Chelsea turn the heat up?

Hypocrisy rules here,if you didn't already realise that.

I don't have a hard on for Laudrup,or any other male, and your suggestion that I do,and that I am star struck,is nonsensical, not to mention insulting.
I thought you were better than that.
Perhaps I have given you too much credit. I must now reconsider that position.

In conclusion, let me point out that football is only a game, and should be seen as such.
It fades into insignificance when measured against the really important things in life.
If I use a smiley occasionally, perhaps it's to remind myself, you, and others, just HOW insignificant football really is.

    Have a nice day. <ok>

OK! HM.. It's important that the best players such as Ki, Gylfi, Montero feel they're getting the best possible support throughout the club & their football is improving.. As a player I'd probably find it more tempting to play for someone like Steve Bruce, Harry Redknapp or Gus Poyet..

Not wishing to offend anybody but I can't believe people are still talking about Laudrup even though I loved the guy but he's history now. But I am worried about Monk because some of his selections and tactics have been well dodgy of late.

I've talked with the Mr over this and we both think it was the perfect storm yesterday. Poor team selection + poor tactics + schoolboy errors + a superb opposition + that opposition not putting a foot wrong = monumental disaster. Simple really, and no need for this game to define our season provided everyone learns from it, including Mr Monk.

Paddy Barclay was on Sky just now and said the current Chelsea is one of the best teams he's seen in 25 years. Puts things into perspective I think.
