Sad to see that ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers owner Sir Jack Hayward has passed away aged 91. One of the owners who never sought to profit from the club that he was part of.
Paul Jewell has contacted his lawyers following his sudden departure from West Brom after just a week. Jewell left the Premier League club on Tuesday after being appointed assistant head coach by new manager Tony Pulis. West Brom said the former Bradford, Wigan and Derby boss, 50, had decided not to continue "his recent assistance on a more formal basis". But Jewell told BBC Sport his exit was "not by mutual consent" and the matter is now in the hands of his lawyers.
Bradford 2-0 Millwall in the FA Cup. Borrowed time for Hollowhead? The Lions haven't been on a good run of late, they are also down to ten men.
Bradford 3-0 Millwall now. They signed Nigel Gibbs as first team coach on the 15th Dec and have only drawn once since, against Bradford and lost 4 league games.
Bradford City have eleven players and three goals, Millwall don't. Both have three cautions. As Bruce Forsyth would say, "Good game, good game".
Do I detect a hint of bitterness in that comment Mex? Surely not. My worry is that Gibbsy declined to come to us for a perfectly valid reason - and one not connected with money - more his role perhaps.
Surely this has to be one of the strangest happenings in a league game. Scunthorpe United lost both of their recognised goalkeepers before half-time with broken arms as Bristol City earned a fourth straight win. Sam Slocombe was replaced after eight minutes by Jamie Severn, who was hurt denying Matt Smith in a one-on-one.
Still more charges to come against him in Italy that could bring further bans. Also the club itself is facing charges of not supplying documents to the FL that could be another problem.
What a debacle for Leeds which most seriously should have a club in the Prem.... On the other hand I am very happy they don't
