Well enough to keep Catts or Seb out? Not for me.

For me yes, incredibly harsh to drop a player after he's play well. Sends a bad message

Fair enough, I'd stick with a midfield two of Rodwell and Seb though and hope Gus does the same

There were 4 offsides he got wrong, fetcher's miss was level, a couple of Spurs runs were level and lets face Spurs 3rd goal was disallowed for nothing what so ever, the pass was so far in their own half the linesman should never be given flag again. Officials are killing this league no doubt.

Disagree also. Rod was quite good but certainly no more than that. Catts is our best player. No room for sentiment in our situation. Rod knows he's close to the team now but the message I'd send to him is that he needs to do more.

Thought we battled for everything and were just undone by Johnson't misplaced pass in their box when we had committed men forward which set Townsend away and nobody catches him.. DG had more of an impact than CW and did well to get his snap shot away before a defender flew in. Saw a barrow load of positives from the team today and thought they played with belief.

He did -at best OK, would sooner have Bridcutt or better to have Catts in that role.

In tact, we might have evened things up a bit with Cattermole on the field and whatever you saw of Rodders today, I'd play a fit Catts over him any day of the week.

Don't think Fletch was given offside for his miss mate. My commentator said the flag stayed down. I spotted one where Defoe was given off from a ball over the top and he was on.

The more I see of Fletchers missed chance the more I think he was already reeling away with his hands to his ears in his celebratory style!! I can't understand how he's missed by that far!! Graham and Wickhamsouldve scored it. Defoe looked rusty but that's understandable. A "kick out" used to be a straight red. Now it's just a talking to! A definite penalty turned down and a massive deflection for their goal.

One interesting stat was the number of fouls. They committed twice the amount we did! Strange one that unless we're better disciplined now.

All in all Spurs deserved their win. But we should've gained more impetus than that from the goal. Twice we've played Spurs and twice they've looked world class. Why couldn't we get them on a Europa league week?? Luck of the draw I guess!!

Decent performance from the lads. Like the look of the formation but AJ was isolated. Too much backtracking? Maybe better for him against sides like Burnley etc. hope so!!

I didn't see the game but Gus did say they'd only practiced it for a couple of days,it'll take time and as WMS Burnley is massive and will be the game to judge this nee formation.
I would prefer Revelierre in place of Jones, although he's 35 he offers so much more, any idea when he's back fit?

We coul have got a draw with Spurs or against the run of play nicked it. Danny graham should have buried one however he did come on, put himself about and got in the right positions. We got caught on the break and it's the reason we play so deep. Our centre backs are too slow.

I agree about our CB's being very slow but they are the best we have, we need two DM's in front of them imo to offset this glaring weakness. Against Spurs all the pundits remarked on how slow we were in closing down on the edge of our box, That is why in 5 3 2 formation I prefer Catts or Briddo in this role. I also think Gus would have been wiser to have kept Defoe for the last 30 minutes, but that is with hindsight, we got very close to springing a surprise yesterday and I think all the players deserve credit, team spirit is going to be vital in the run in ahead.
