Taken from the Charlton not606 forum.

"Do you want to hear something funny?. I've been sat all afternoon on the 'work permit' thread, thinking it was the match thread, and wondering why I was the only one posting"

Probably glad that no one else could see what he wrote. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Just back from the Vic . What a difference from the last home game against Wolves . Great performances from Layun and Ighaloo in particular but a good allround showing from the whole team. The atmosphere in the ground was buzzing for most of the game and was enhanced by the Mexican wave for a potential new favourite.

Charlton were pretty hopeless and almost allowed us to move the ball with pace but we took our chances well in the 1st half before easing off after the break.

Only negative was Vydra - cannot complain about anyone else.

Again Ingalo scores a couple and Deeney looked back to his best.

Mind you not sure we will play a team in such a mess again.

Great 3 points today, and vital to keep up in the pack. Last dozen games or so have been frustrating for the inconsistent up and down performances. From now on this level of commitment and consistency will be needed to maintain play-off challenge, as well as the tactical nous and organisation to overcome far better teams than Charlton.
Players showed today how good they are ......

I don't know if it really is having the extra side to the ground, but the atmosphere at the Vic today was electric. I cannot remember it being so good for a normal league game for many a year. The 1881 group have had quite an effect and I applaude them. However my quote of the day comes from the Rookery.

"To the guy at the back of the #rookery starting the chants, could you drop a couple of octaves? Like singing with the BeeGees." :1980_boogie_down:

We got 2 new fans today - my nieces. What a match to choose for their first visit!Only down side was the people behind us who spent the afternoon slagging Troy - ironic given one of them was also moaning about a lack of English players... The best thing was that their attention to Toszer with 5 minutes left. Whoops <laugh>

Great performance. Yes Charlton were abject, but then they weren't all that at The Valley...and we lost that day. Good to see a 90+ minute performance. Now we just need to see some consistency.

BTW, did Ighalo score his first? Looked like an OG from where we sit. Not that it matters too much.

Same again next week please COYH
