Well I said Monk was **** when we appointed him and I still believe that. Only positive to come out of that was no red cards.

It's not as if we haven't played Chelsea before Dai, and we did better away at Stamford bridge losing 4-2, but to lose by 5 goals at home because our manager has a brain fart is reckless, and Monk will have to do a great deal to address his madness today, really disappointed in the starting line up, subs, formation and strategy, Monk has done some damage today, that he will need to put right, Monk contributed to our downfall today big time................<ok>

This was worse than when Chelsea beat us at the Bridge in our first season up - the game where Gower was part of our midfield.

I have to say that this game was a mess from the very start. We were too clever for our own good in the final third when we could have created chances.

There are some things that are pretty clear from this game. Ki is irreplaceable in our midfield, which probably means we're going to sell him this summer - maybe even this month.

Gomis is not as good as Bony on an individual level. I'd like to see Oli start against Blackburn as the #9 just to see what he can do.

Dyer's days are numbered, there was no attempt to take anybody on and defensively he's just not that good to offset it. We need to persevere with somebody else - Barrow or Emnes.

Emnes has a go, whatever else, he has a go, tries to take on defenders and enjoys some success.

I'm glad Shelvey didn't play today, he would have been sent off through frustration. Our midfield is Ki / Carroll / Sig, with Leon as backup for Ki and Carroll .... but WTF do I know Shelvey will probably play as soon as he finishes his suspension.

Ash's shoulder could be pretty buggered. Whatever it is, he was in a lot of discomfort for the last quarter of the game.

Well, according to one of the Penclawdd oracles, only a few short months ago,Monk was being sourced by Barca and Real, for next season.

You couldn't make it up. <laugh>

Your problem is Dai, your bulling Chelsea up, when we made them look like World champions, or rather Monk did, 4-4-2 is suicide, as we do not have the quality players for that formation, Monk has shown himself up here and will have to put it right ASAP...............<ok>

Just seen all the goals again, Fed's back pass aside, all of their goals came from our left flank or down left center. What does that tell us.

I am guessing that Fed's back pass was a result of players either not talking to him to talking to him and him not understanding what they were saying. He passed without looking, presumably he thought Fab had come out of his goal to help or somebody another Swan was there.

I don't know what our open slots we have in our named squad but we need to beef up our squad for the rest of the season with some loans. The loss of Bony is going become a real problem if we don't import some quality or others (Dyer, Routs in particular and Sig) don't start scoring. This is our risk now ... we don't find a way to create and bury chances ... and I think it's huge and tangible,

We didn't get well beaten by a superior side then. <laugh> fans were saying all week we would probably lose this by 3-0 4-0 3-1 5-0 etc etc. well we were right and why were we right...because we know we are not in the same league just like most others if chelsea turns it on...no surprises here the best team gave us a lesson with their superior players.....we are lucky we dont have to play teams as good as this very often but the others are in the same boat so its not a problem and we go away and learn. <ok>

We really need to go back to a very strong 5 man midfield, the type of midfield we had when Bodde was here, and until we start understand the basics of matching quality teams with a stronger midfield formation then Monk is going to be given lessons like this today. We have lost Bony, Ki is away on international duty, and he decides to experiment with 4-4-2?

I have some sympathy with this post.

I forecast 0-3 and was criticised for doing so. It seems we all have to forecast a Swans' win, regardless of how one feels about it.
I'm not sure if that is sad,or pathetic.

Four down in just over 30 minutes is a lost cause,so I guess 0-5 was a minor victory for the now seemingly hapless Manager,Garry Monk, even though it was probably more as a result of Chelsea taking their foot off the throttle, than his input.
I didn't see the game, but relied on BBC radio for details.
Nothing positive was said about The Swans' performance today.

There was a time when independent commentator's etc.,purred about how we played.
I can't remember the last time I heard such observations being made.
I guess the Monk Way has usurped all else.

Southampton away next,so no points there either.
Blackburn away in the Cup now looks formidable.

The Liberty Stadium will resemble "Bleak House" soon,I suspect.

I predicted 0-3 too but that's because Chelsea are excellent, possibly the best Chelsea side in history. But we were also poor and looked nervy and starstruck. Monk's team selection and tactics were baffling to everyone it seems to me. Siggy didn't seem to know what his role was at all and we were overrun in midfield by a class outfit.

Put together a rookie manager who tried to be clever against a much more experienced guy, the gifting of early goals and a bad day at the office by most of our players (many of whom seemed to be confused about their tasks) against the club that will probably be Champions and we shouldn't be surprised.

This game will do more good than not. Ok we were given a lesson today but come on it's not totally unexpected. what was surprising was the way some of our players were star struck and froze in the first half, There is a lot to be learned by everyone from this and 5-0 at the end of the day flattered us as it should have been double figures in the first half alone. After the first 15 minutes the writing was on the wall and it was all about watching a great side after that and enjoying some great football by some great players. We were beat anyway but that did not stop me from admiring the way Chelsea played the game by their obvious superior players. This is a good learning curve for our players and something to take on board by all concerned at Swansea....
