Well ground out today by the lads. Back to Second and Happy Days! Oh and fook you Maclaren and all you Derby ****ers!
Was starting to get a little worried.....and then Parr popped one in and made the last ten minutes worry free.
Dare I say it, it looks like we could actually be ok without McSelfish. His injury came at a bad time for him. He's been poor in front of goal and now we have Hunt and Sears to replace him if neccessary. I liked Mick's substitutions today. I was surprised that Parr didn't come in at LB with Mings moving forward but I'm pleased they didn't of course. Sears played his part well and looks like a good addition to the team and then Clarke came on to get some championship minutes. Well done lads
good win today boys, get the last week out of our minds and would be fantastic to now follow it up against Brighton. well chuffed, only dampener was Cardiff couldn't finish off the fight back!
I've just started a Noel Hunt appreciation thread on the Leeds board if anyone wants to add their tuppence to it
I agree SD. McG clearly out of sorts, ill, injured or just given time out. He has played well for most of the season so far, apart from last 3-4 games. On the crappy stream I had, it was good to see more energy and life up front in the spells that we dominated in an otherwise unforgettable game! I liked what we saw of Sears, nice touches and glimpses of what we have in store. Offered something different. Parr played a good'un, back 4 dodgy at times. But we did need to slow the pace down, pass the ball around and keep possession. We failed to do this until last 10, when we all began to sigh with relief. Difficult game this, we knew. Delighted with the 3 pts. Put the disappointments behind us. Lets keep grinding them out. Well done the lads. On to Brighton!
Where is Jonny, anyone know? Not on the Palace pitch or bench today. Still injured? I remain convinced that with him back pulling strings and creating many more chances, our front players will play even better.
Yeah gaffer, first twenty minutes were great and a spell towards the end of the game but otherwise the rest was a typical championship match. Devoid of much quality but a battling performance saw us leave with three points again. If that style takes us to the premier league you won't hear me complaining too much.
...nor me! Provided we do get in Sharp & Jonny...and oh yes, a RB as I remain unconvinced by Chambers. But, then Parr switches over and did a fair job there...hmm
(Coughs politely and reminds everyone of his prediction) (Then remembers how wide of the mark they usually are and shuts up) Just had a look at the coming fixtures for us, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and Derby; looks good for us so long as we can hold our nerve. And then I might, just might, very quietly for now, join in with SD's song.
Routine victory today to get us back on track, quite a typical us performance really, we lacked quality but made the opposition look poor aswell, need to close out games better and slow the game down, we are very 1 paced either playing quick and direct or just nothing ball backwards. Back 4 bit dodgy today which isn't normal. You can really see Mick and TC have worked on the team in terms of defensive position and also finishing with our attacking players, I get a feeling we need to work alot on what goes on in the middle third. Under Mick I seem to feel very positive until I watch a match and usually get frustrated. Onwards and upwards though, in terms of the position we are in, it's better than anyone could have dreamed of. I hope Sears has a big part to play in our season
