He gets plenty beat but then doesn't everyone?! I remember ppl on here going on about Bobs Worth being a Gold Cup certainty last year too... Irving was going to wipe the floor with Vautour too etc etc All swings and roundabouts but I do think there is an element of jealousy towards Mullins that he does so well there every year!

<laugh> High standards, if its not the 1986 Arc its a shockingly poor excuse for a horse race.

Nah, that novice chase in Ireland recently was a quality event, deep.

I can picture you pacing up and down a room shaking your head furiously saying 'handicappers, handicappers nothing but poor handicappers in that race' :steam:

Mallowney should be in the Champion Chase and id fancy him but they are keeping him for Punchestown.

Agree about Mallowney. Fair play to them though. Shows Cheltenham isn't the be all for everyone! There's probably a lesson in there lol

Blood found in Sprinter Sacre's nose after race. Henderson said it didn't affect the performance but he could of done without it. Waiting on tests to see how he came out of it now.

So Aiden Coleman gets a 4 day ban for his mis-use of the whip on Emperor's Choice in the Welsh National. This despite the Chief Exec of the governing body tweeting his admiration of his jockey ship in the immediate aftermath of the race. To coin a phrase from the forum's Knight of the realm ridiculous with a capital R!

Evening folks, long time no posts! Hope everyone is well and has been lucky! For what its worth I thought both The New One, and Sprinter was given assignments that weren't ideal just so they had a prep run for the big day in March. The New One was clearly uncomfortable in the conditions at Haydock, which were horrendous by the way, and Sprinter was stretched by a pace that was put into the race to clearly try and expose any fitness shortcomings, which worked.
I've nailed my colours to the mast of the New One for the past two festivals and won't be deserting him for 2015, but if Faugheen has another 20-30% on top of what we've seen already, then there can only be one winner at Cheltenham.
Sprinter jumped and travelled better the further he went, and just lacked that last half mile of race fitness when it mattered, Geraghty merely nudging him home after the last. Providing there are no further hiccups or issues, the 3/1 currently offered for the CC could look massive.

Completely agree Joe, Sprinter has been off for over a year and was expected to beat the Tingle Creek winner(the best Champion Chase trial) without breaking sweat..... He ran a good race, jumping great for most and got tired in the final 2 furlongs..... I always choose my picks when they are race fit unless they are renowned for being good fresh.
The New One ran on atrocious ground and struggled early on jumping out to the right but he still showed his class and got the job done. Faugheen looks a monster and will take a lot of beating but for TNO fans his price will rise for no reason which is a bonus and the same with Sprinter...... 3/1 instead of 4/7 will do nicely thank you!

I reckon he ran a stone and half to 2 stone below his OR. He was tenderly ridden and will certainly improve for the outing. But sadly I think today proved the old adage true that they never come back. However the positive for Black Aeroplane supporters is that he doesn't have to get back to his best to win in March. A stone below that should do it. The problem I would have with him though is that he's rarely had a battle, certainly not in his chasing career. I can't see him having it all his own way so at 5/2 it's not a betting proposition for me. Having said all that I'd be delighted if he does it though.

That horse is a flat track specialist -won't repeat the Kempton or Aintree antics there! QUOTE="Boris Fenster, post: 7505970, member: 1018781"]Champagne Fever must run in the Champion Chase, its a poor race and he cant win anything else.

Fever 8/1, Special Tiara 25/1 and Uxizandre 16/1 are the 3, the rest are Dundalk bound.

    Special Tiara for me.[/QUOTE]
