Can't believe Borini has scored, i'll be seeing Jesus in my toast tomorrow morning. Hope that's the start of it for him at LFC now, I give him a lot of stick but I do like his work ethic and there's something to commend in his stubbornness to want to stay and try and prove himself, it's just 99% of the time he seems to think the point of the game is to miss the goal and the situation looks dead for him at the club.
How is our defending guys? I don't have our game on and I'm watching Chelsea tear up Swansea. Midweek might be hard if they keep this form.
What the actual **** are the commentators going on about? "Well Borini has certainly played a lot more than he'd have expected to this season" Oh yeah, 3 starts, including the last two games mind, since October, and 6 sub appearances, 5 of which are with less than 10 minutes to go. ****ing idiots.
Sakho has been brilliant. Tackling, tracking back, blocking. Skrtel and Can not so much, but the threat from Villa has largely been down our left anyway. Skrtel had a typical Skrtel moment early on though.
His work ethic and desire are great but his awareness, decision making and first touch are appalling.
Look a bit more solid, with a few nervy moments as to be expected. Sahko looks very commanding, winning virtually everything that's getting thrown at him, shame Skrtel looks a tad shaky next to him.
Borini and Torres scoring in the same week has got to be a sign of the apocalypse.... Anyway remembering back to the same fixture last year, we were 1-0 up and after half time BR set up our team to defend in the 2nd half, knowing full well that Villa are good on the counter but poor at breaking teams down. We really should see this one out barring any stupid mistakes.
Taking Villa's awful scoring record this season in to consideration, I'd be very disappointed if we don't come away with three points now.
If we win, and Spurs & United draw, we'll be above Spurs and 3 points behind United in 4th having played the same amount of games. 1 points behind Arsenal and 4 behind Saints who both have a game in hand... #crisis
Think we would be better served with Sterling playing up front - his pace alone will take advantage of that high line. Borini - great finish but he;s still a dross footballer. Sakho is a beast!
Borini there, should've at least got a shot away. Sign of zero confidence. His finish for the first one was nervy as well. Or maybe he is just utter **** apart from his hustle.
