Hutton for 3million, we could do a lot worse, I rated him when he played at the SOL, wonder if Brucie has read this, sad thing is its saggy chops who holds all the aces. ON THE CHEAP ... Alan Hutton Published: Today ALEX McLEISH is ready with a £3million offer to give Alan Hutton a quick way out of Tottenham. Big Eck wants to make the Scotland international one of his first signings at Aston Villa - 12 months after failing to lure him to Birmingham. McLeish had a £6m bid for his former Rangers right-back rejected by Spurs last summer. But now he is eyeing up a cut-price move for the defender after being told Villa cannot have England Under-21 star Kyle Walker on another loan. Walker has just signed a new five-year deal and Spurs boss Harry Redknapp made it clear he expects him to challenge for a first-team place after impressing during loan spells with Villa and QPR last term and at this summer's European Under-23 Championships. Hutton cost Tottenham a whopping £9m from Rangers in February 2008. But the Scot is entering the final year of his contract and Spurs could be happy to cash in on a cut-price deal now rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer. Hutton, 26, was already behind Vedran Corluka in the pecking order and is keen to make a fresh start away from North London after just 51 appearances in 3½ years at Spurs. He also had a spell on loan at Sunderland in 2010 and Black Cats manager Steve Bruce wanted to sign him permanently - but was unwilling to meet Spurs' £5m valuation. Meanwhile, Villa have told Liverpool they must pay £20m to land STEWART DOWNING after snubbing a second bid from the Kop. Boss Kenny Dalglish offered £15m for the England winger, 27. But Villa are in no mood to let Downing go for less than their asking price having already banked £20m from selling Ashley Young to Manchester United. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...-McLeish-ready-to-pounce-for-Alan-Hutton.html
I know he enjoyed it up here, i used t see him regularly, easy reach to his family and pals in Glasgow. What about with these Gyan tales, we take Hutts, Kranjkaer and Defoe?
If that was on offer Bruce should jump at it. Depends on how much Harry's valuation is on each of his players, and what he thinks Gyans worth. Don't think Saggy Chops would value Gyan at £25m. Maybe £18m seems a reasonable price.
Agreed completely - 3m for Hutton would be a steal. Beaky - not defoe (2 goals last season for an England regular?? - poor return even with his injuries - and he has a major attitude that may disrupt the dressing room) Krancjar and Hutton definitely but I want to keep Gyan unless a £30m+ offer comes in. he's a better all around player than Andy Carroll and hitting his prime so those 3 are no way worth £30m+
Just reading the Star, and he's valuing Kranjkaer at a frankly pathetic £12million, having signed him for £2.5million, and started him TWICE last year! I'd say Hutton is worth £4million tops, as his contract is low, then £7million for NK, and £8million for Defoe, valuing Gyan at a similar amount to you. Spurs will say NK and Defoe are worth more, so we say 'so's Gyan'. Don't want Gyan to leave, but if he did, a deal of this nature is way better for us than cash, as we'd struggle to spend it. O'Shea and Pob, and hopefully Welbeck on loan with these 3, i'd be really confident going into the season.
I agree about keeping Gyan, i'm just starting to feel a little uneasy on the situation, we need him to either come out and repeat he's staying, or otherwise, as if he was to leave, we don't want it to happen on the eve of the big kick off, we'd be ****ed.
Any business with Spurs is so painful and stop all this Gyan swap crack, it just fuels the rumours haha
For 3m, Hutton should be a priority signing. Its a no brainer. As for Defoe? He's washed up IMO. Best years behind him now for me. Kranjcar though would be a massive yes. I'd still prefer Pav or Crouch personally but as a partner to Gyan not a replacement?
If you like, i don't know who you are in the real world, so yeah. I now have a visual of you as the frog from wind in the willows like...
I'm sure he's only got a couple of years left on his contract so they need to cash in now or he'll be worth evem less next summer!! et him in Brucie - be a nice brucie bonus and definite strength in depth for the squad, let alone the team
If we get Brown, O'Shea and go and get Hutton for 3m surely that spells the end of Bardsley at SAFC? Not that I would be gutted as I dont think he is all that but how do the Bardsley fans feel about that, he would be pushed well down the order and don't want someone on 31k a week sat on the sidelines everyweek
