To be perfectly blunt on the matter, it's Muslim terrorists comitting atrocities in the name of islam, regardless of what has happened centuries, decades or months ago. Remember guys this was over a cartoon drawing FFS. Yes people look at the bigger picture and come out with reasons but it doesn't mean they are excuses. I have not seen one thing I like about the Muslim religion and is that my fault for not being open minded and understanding other faiths or their fault for bombing and killing in the name of Allah. I have no problems with other faiths who even come knocking on my door from time to time. I'm sure there must be a political correct word to describe someone like me who doesn't like the Muslim faith. Only they can change my mind and opinions but unfortunately I don't think they ever will. Whatever percentage want sharia law then quite simply **** off to a country that has it. That goes to anyone of any faith who can't integrate or live peacefully in our country. **** off elsewhere.
? WTF? I would have thought the exact opposite is true. Some Muslims are most definitely out to hurt you. If they get the chance they'll cut your head off. And the Pope will come round and give you a slap if you make an off colour joke about his Mum. Or say that his church is a **** coloured tower of evil.
What would be refreshing is if people could speak their mind without fear of being labelled, accused or killed
Don't hold back Bob, I'm not. And Kiwi has condemned us all to a death fatwa by posting the Charlie Hebdo cover, so we are all doomed anyway. Of course, you have to be prepared to engage in civilized debate on whatever your mind wishes to say, otherwise you are no better than the fanatics. That's what this is all about. Only caveat is that this is still a football forum with rules we have agreed to stay within.
What would be even more refreshing is if people would stop killing other people and using religion as an excuse. Wouldn't it a better world if followers of any faith could accept that their beliefs aren't shared by everyone else and just get on with life.
Why do we stay as QPR fans? Do we not get passionate about our beliefs? do we not kill fans from other clubs? do we not think we are right? Would we not defend our home ground if we had fans of another club over do we not visit other grounds and shout rude things at them? Collectivity do we not travel abroad and cause havoc? Before matches there we even sing our beliefs in a anthem about our God saving a old rich woman with goat legs Of but of course it's different because its us and we can change the rules to suit because we are righteous and clever ... We invented football and we invented God
The first two definitions of 'disrespect' I came across this morning were: "Lack of respect or courtesy" and "to insult". If the Charlie Hebdo's station in life is to be discourteous and to deliberately insult, then I'm surprised it is a magazine that receives the patronage of the right-on Leftists, irrespective of who their target is from time to time. But, of course, the right-on Leftist adheres to its his doctrine, which is that it is acceptable to be discourteous, insulting and show intolerance towards those that don't share his worldview. Leaving aside the specific matter of CH and Islam, why is it necessary to insult rather than simply ignore?
I must say that their beliefs must be extremely fragile if a poorly drawn cartoon is sufficient to give them the vapours.
At the end of the day it's racism plain and simple. We don't hear much moaning about nice blond Bosnian Muslims who the West rushed to defend in recent times. It's all about the "Arabs" despite less than one in five Muslims being an "Arab". North Africans are as Arab as a North American is English. Say what one likes about Islam but as afaik it's unique in having a specific message against racism both in the Quran and in the the Prophet's final sermon where he clearly states that being a certain ethicity means nothing, not better nor worse than anyone else.
The message ain't quite getting through then is it !!!!!!! Where is the racism in drawing a cartoon? Does it really offend that much to incite murder?? The racism if any is from the terrorists.
maybe you can clear this up imaz does the quran say females must be covered from head to toe can drawings be made of mohamed did he like to have sex with 13 year olds can lots of people be murdered in the name of purceived offence is sharia law good if the countrys the muslims which too leave are so bad why do they want to recreate them in the west etc etc
The plain truth of the matter is that these terrorists are painting the religion of islam in a bad light through their actions in the name of their faith.
