I'm beginning to wonder if our big move into the promised land has really been worth it.

The massive hike in tickets prices , Flabio's renewed interest in running the show, constant angst over the signing/non signing of players/takeover deal it has all become very stressful since the season finished back in May.

I know we all want to see the likes of Man U , Arsenal and Chelsea at LR but is it really going to be any fun if we're getting battered week in week out and spending the entire season in a relegation dogfight.

I'm starting to wonder if I'd just prefer to be a good championship side rather than a P*** poor Premiership one.

Kinda reminds me of the phrase " Be careful what you wish for you might just get it!"

    Thoughts?

The premier league is the place to be we knew it would cost more but expected our owners to splash some cash, but all said an done im excited to think were about to take on some of the biggest clubs in the country,we may get hammered now and again but we will shock a few as well,

The only "shock" I could possibly see us pulling off is against Liverpool but suspect it would be more due to their shortcomings as opposed to the brilliance of a Rangers side.

Thing is, our Championship side depended entirely on the Kenny and Taarabt factors. Without maverick Taarabt we were pretty ordinary and the goals were few and far between. That's gonna be a real problem in the prem.

I totally agree Brixton, if Taraabt DOES leave and no-one else of similiar ability (minus the attitude) is brought in I dread to think where the goals are coming from......

I've been thinking the same way, we'd of been better of with a point deduction.
Them 3 might of ****ed off and left it with the Mittals then.

Can't we just refuse to participate in the PL - we could sell our membership to the highest bidder.
They can't force us to play Man U and Chelsea and all those nasty brutish teams who probably wallop us and laugh at our ground anyway.
    Who needs it?
I miss my friends in the Championship(sob!)

I'm with Peter. The Prem is the place to be, regardless of all the other nonsense that's been going on. Don't worry too much though Congleton. The way things are looking we'll be back in the Championship before you know it.;)

Well peter1954 qpr, Yu are old enough to remember when Rangers went up to the 1st.Div; ever?? We went right down again with only 18 points!! Yes, we lost most of the game by 2-1 , 1-0, 3-2, and so on! This time round , we will be lucky even if we beat Derbys points?? And remember way back then we did have a good team!

James your right i do remember it well, and the same as this season we didn't really add to the team that went up and i well remember going to old trafford and being beaten 8-1, i don't see this side losing 8-1 to anyone,we also had the sad ending of Alec Stock and being lumbered with Tommy Docherty, (i believe he lasted 28 days),But through it all i thought i want more of this and it when promotion was gained we were in a better position to know how to deal with it,

I share Brix's concerns. If we're to enjoy the season, we have to be able to compete. Blackpool did, the fans had a ball and at least they went down fighting. I don't want to be unduly pessimistic, and there's still over a month to the start of the season, but at the moment, assuming we lose Tarbs, we aren't nearly as good as Blackpool was imo.

We needn't worry, we will back in the Championship before long given the current state of affairs.

If we keep up this dead and buried attitude, we are doing ourselves a massive injustice. Season ticket prices, dislike of our owners, lack of transfer activity aside, when we kick off against Bolton, we need to support our team. The players who got us promoted were our heroes last season and if nothing happens and those very same players are on the teamsheet next season, they deserve our full backing. I believe in positivity and I believe, as Willy's player rating thread illustrated, that our squad is better than many think. What we do have is a good team spirit and individuals who will give 100%. Not all, but a lot of our players have enough about them to rise to the occasion, but only with some ferocious support pushing them on.

I don't blame anyone for feeling like it's the end of the world, but I'm not going to hang my head. Visual protests during matches, fine (scarves etc), but the vocals must be loud, positive and aimed at our boys and manager. It's amazing what you can achieve when you pull together.

Now, can anyone lend me £700?

Look at the level of detail we older Rs remember through decades... it'll be the same for the younger ones now. They will remember these seasons. They will remember who and what took us up and who and what brought us down. Briatore and the minor Goons will be remembered but unusually for a football club, it won't be as legends!

I reckon the fans and the players will stand four square together this season Woody. There's a great deal of energy, purpose and noise in the level of anger and frustration felt by all - especially on the back of the hopes and expectations coming out of last season.

Those feelings can only really be expressed in the dramas on and off the pitch at Loftus Road. Common cause creates enduring bonds.

    COYRss!

As far as I'm concerned, you can take ferocious vocal support as a given, Woody. I'm just concerned that the team will start an important season with a handicap...we'll see...
