The quote says that ML APPROVED Ki's decision? Then ML goes and signs lesser players than Ki, I.e. Canas and Piz. One minute ML says Ki can go and then he comes back and ML says he can't trust him? No wonder Ki pissed off to Sunderland and has been a different player under Monk. Laudrup started this with his negative feelings around Ki, if the quote is to be believed of course.

It would be interesting to know from a neutrals perspective what happened here. Either way it's the best thing that happened as Ki's spell at Sunderland has transformed him into the player we have now.

Where has gomis said he dont want to be at swansea ? All i see is other people saying that and ignoring the truth from monk when he states that gomis is training hard and relishing his chance of being No1 striker. He is a very good player that has attracted a number of clubs even though he has only been a bit part player...odd dont you think or have we another gem that we can make more money off in due course..

 

You make it sound like the club will suddenly realise they've sold 2 strikers and then it hits them they don't have another one.

For Christ sake have some confidence in what the club are doing. In the (unlikely imo) event that Gomis gets sold as well in this window I'm sure the board will have had the forethought to bring in replacements. That's probably not desirable at this stage of the season though but it could happen.

 

As we go up the food chain with these players, you are going to get this spoilt childish ego driven nonsense, if he wants to go then he and his entourage can go, we want serious professional players not spoilt little brats. When you look at these articles some things become obvious, firstly his agent is acting like a pimp on heat, and there is no way Newcastle or Arsenal for that matter are interested, Newcastle turned him down in the summer, and Arsenal have plenty of bodies in they're forward line, matter of fact they have loaned out 2 of their strikers, so I can't see this being a serious transfer for them. Anyway why would we sell him to that tight fisted French git at Arsenal for £6 Million, when Pardew has reportedly offered £8 Million?

No big deal even if we do get rid of the want away child, we still have a better Striker in Emnes, and there is also Oliveira on loan so we will be fine in my view.......................

 

I'm not sure we have better in either Emnes or Oliveria at the moment .Emnes has moments of excellence in a supporting role and Oliveria has only had ten minutes in total so time will tell if either could step up to be the main attacking threat .I wonder what reception he'll get today ? some may not be so forgiving for him missing chances , there's enough down the stadium who give stick even when the players' playing well .

 

But we don't know if his replacement would score more. It's all very well working out how many points a certain player's goals got us, but it doesn't take into account goals that would likely be scored by others. e.g. We won't 'lose' all Bony's future goals, because other will score instead,

 

If Gomis really does want away then get rid and find somone who wants to be here. Just make the desicion early and not let this drag on, so that if a replacement is needed then we have time to get one in. Seems his agent is desperate for another pay day.

If true that Bafe wants out - then the club should already be in dealings to buy another now -not in the summer.

We'll see his demeanour today, although he may have a very frustrating afternoon against Chelsea anyway.

 

I agree. Get Bony's replacement in now and sell Gomis if he wants to leave. His attitude is the complete opposit to Bony's if all these stories are true.

 

If Gomis wants to be number 1 striker at a club in the Premier League, the best thing to do is stay here because he's unlikely to be number 1 striker at any team above us in the league.

 

Call me Mystic Meg lol. I did say we'd be up a creek if this happened and for that reason I always thought that we should have made it clear Bony was not for sale until the Summer. When it was obvious that Bony would be allowed to go my alarm bells were ringing because all it took was for another club to come in and trigger the Gomis contract with a bid and we'd be in trouble.

Very worrying if this is true.

What is the contract?

 

From what I've read there was a £7M trigger in the contract allowing him to speak to other clubs. Don't know if that's true but it was in the media. Doesn't matter either way. If that's not the case then imo we should not sell, at least this month. Selling one striker is business, selling both when you don't have to is foolish.
