Seems billy is on his way. Cellino is making Bates's asset stripping look like gentle pruning. He is going to make a lot of money by the time the fl kick him out and he sells up. The new owners are going to be fecked though!
Welcome to the forum Simon, fairly new myself but have found this forum much better, debate wise than ja606, the facilities are way better and it has an inside toilet. Great post Simon, thoroughly agree with it... Many fans have their opinions about Cellino, but which fans would, in all honesty want to take the job on and tackle the mess left behind by Bates and GFH. He's took the job on and, imo, is doing his level best to fix everything and right the ship. This is his first season in British Football and, as luck would have it, he chose one of the biggest supported teams around the world with baggage and a mess left behind by previous owners that any top notch accountant team would have a headache with. LUFC have a mixed bunch of fans, as do all teams when it comes to views, opinions and patience, and while I believe Cellino is trying to keep everyone of us happy, he has yet still to learn the influence, knowledge, experience, and in some cases the power of the fans. For me Cellino is a bit of a control freak and likes to do things his way, and/or the italian way, he will learn this is Britain and the home of Football however, due to the amount of debt, overspending, asset stripping and rips off by GFH and Bates, it stands to reason why he would want to oversee and have a say in everything, sometimes he'll go overboard, but that's how all of us learn, from our mistakes. I get the impression he doesn't want it to happen to LUFC again, not while he's the owner any way. Not many seem to realise the problems Cellino inherited, including the embargo, it's not like he can fix one then move onto the next one, they're all hovering around his head. How many of us have been burdened with multiple problems from time to time then wonder, where do I start? Cellino wants what the fans want, success, but he can't achieve that untill the train has got a full head of steam up, for that to happen the majority of the left behind baggage must first be removed, the FL and their witch hunt of Cellino is an extra weight he carries, irrespective of what's happened in past. Many who want Cellino out don't see, or turn a blind eye to the good he has done for, and brought to the club. There are those on ja606 who simply hate Cellino and will not entertain or acknowledge the good he has done because it will conflict with their own obsessive agenda, trust me when I say obsessive, they try their level best to coerce others into jumping on their bandwagons. Right now, ja606 is split between two factions, the drearies (the obsessed) and the cheeries (patient Cellino supporters who have both eyes open). While most, if not all fans want success, or stability now, our current position doesn't help, we are only just over half way through the season, but end of season position will paint a better picture. MOT with LUFC....
Cellino is the only person of any substance who came forward and put his money where his mouth is. For me he's better than any potless consortium who are only in it to line their own pockets. We have to face the fact that there is no knight in shining armour waiting in the wings ready to inject billions of pounds into the club. For those that want Cellino out I would ask,to be replaced by who? Another ten years of Bates/Harvey/GFH/Potless Consortium? To want him out you must surely have a replacement in mind. If not then STFU and let him get on with it.
Him selling up will not be his decision to make, and although I agree about verity/ Pearson I can see a situation where a white knight or even a red bull come in, however the owner doesn't need to be a billionaire but it would be better if they spoke English and wernt a crook.
