Do you know if they have, or are quite liable to do that anyway without the added layer of bureaucracy? I can't help but think there are more pressing things that a so called 'supporters' group could be looking at right now.
I have to agree with this. It all seems a bit rushed. I actually cannot see any benefit at all from this application at this moment of time. “If an offer comes in for the KC Stadium then I will put it to a referendum and see what the people of Hull have to say about it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion on this." Brady on the sale of the KC.
Football trusts who have applied for, or already secured, an ACV on their stadiums... Halifax Town Swindon Town Leicester City Newcastle United Manchester United Liverpool Charlton Athletic Oxford United Derby County Hereford United Birmingham City Plymouth Argyle Leyton Orient Bury Norwich City Tranmere Rovers Ipswich Town Burnley Wycombe Wanderers Blackpool Stockport County Blackburn Rovers I'm sure there are plenty of others. I expect all trusts to apply as a matter of course. One of our sub group members handled the application on his own, it didn't detract from anything else we were doing.
I don't think Brady will be leader for ever. If Labour loses power then a new administration may have a different view. If Labour replace Brady with a new leader they have a different view. I'm sure Assem Allam had discussions with the Liberals before buying the club only to find, after he bought it he had to deal with Geraghty. Obtaining ACV order gives us some protection against a change of leader or regime.
It gives no protection at all. The fact that other trusts apply for ACV's does not mean that in every case there is a benefit to the community. Do you really believe that ANY elected council will not go through a high level of consultation before selling the KC? The EU's investigation into the funding of The Liberty Stadium, is an indicator that any sales by local authorities involving stadiums will be monitored. And now to find that the application was made by a single committee member, really is not reassuring. These sort of matters really do require a great deal of thought and as I say, I cannot for the life of me see that making the application now has any merit. Why the rush?
What other trusts do is up to them. An AVC gives us protection against a change of leadership that's all. Why would the council have to consult the electorate as long as they sell at or close to market value. If there's no practical point in making the application then it doesn't matter if its granted. As I understand it the application has gone in. I presume it requires more work to withdraw it then watching it make its way through Hull City Council's committee structure so I don't see the problem.
So a unilateral decision on the wording of the application was taken then, research and reporting to a committee, undertaken by one person, verification of the stated facts, one person. Take the piss all that you want, but you still don't answer the main question, whats the rush? I am not against the application for an ACV, just voicing a concern that it has been lodged now. You make much of the lack of consultation being missing in the way that the club deals with issues, where is the consultation on this?
So what was the rush Obi, where is the mandate from the supporters to make the application now or even the first time? Come on Obi if the club had done something like this you would be the first to question it.
The "Rush" is because the anti-Allam faction on the CTWD group are worried that their name change to HCST may attract other supporters into the group who are not like-minded. They needn't worry as they have shown their true colours already and have proved themselves to be just CTWD renamed. I cannot see any new non-CTWD supporters now joining.
I don't really agree with this. To be honest I would have asked the same questions no matter what group submitted the application. I'm not anti CTWD, anti HCST or even anti Assem Allam, I just for the life of me cannot see what the rush was for. I cannot see any benefit for us as supporters as it changes nothing at the moment. All of this "protection" nonsense is just that nonsense. If Hull City or Hull FC wants to move away from the KC a ACV will not stop them. But why would they need to in the short term, the rent is not an issue and the lease has around forty years left on it. Why buy when you have cheap rent? The only reason that anyone would want to be in a position to bid for the KC is to be able to buy it and my point is that the borrowing would put the stadium at more risk than it is now.
What, applied to have the KC declared a community asset? I don't think I would have questioned it. You said it makes no practical difference whether an ACV is granted or not so I really don't see what the fuss is all about. I don't see a problem with the Trust applying for something that has no practical significance. My time on the committee finished before the last AGM, which I didn't attend, so I don't know where the mandate came from. As a member of CTWD and a likely member of the Trust, when I work out how to use paypal, I personally don't have a problem with the application. If other members do they can raise it at the AGM. I'm really struggling to see it as a big issue, honestly.
Just give Lambo a cheque Obi! Kinda surprised Fez and a couple of the others haven't waded in to TOMs questions, all of which I agree with.
Yeah. Certainly if they can't afford it which would surely be likely. Why is that so hard to believe? A few people seem obsessed with this power-crazed world domination conspiracy. They're just a group of fans!
To be honest I would have asked the same questions no matter what group submitted the application. It makes no difference who puts the application in.
I've told you before about coming on here with your common sense and intelligence. Just **** off Tobes
And I would still question it. Where are the minutes of any meeting with other stakeholding community groups? Where was the consultation? Can you recall the last time an application was made without proper consultation that concerned Hull City? Can you recall the questioning of the need to make the application? So here we have an application made by a single member of CTWD/HCST in a capacity of representation and no consultation, yet it has to be accepted without challenge. No answer to why the rush though.
This is such a minor thing, ehy woulf there need to be any discussion about it? There's literally no drawbacks. Like renegade says, there's absolutely nothing to see here.
