If you think there is more to it let us in, what do you base these findings on, i have scoured the news and can only find positives from the guy himself putting to bed dopey rumors
Said on earlier thread I no longer get annoyed or surprised about players leaving just want a team starting against Liverpool who want to be here, will give 100% and have a chance of taking us forward. One option talked about before and that could still come true is Spurs, they like Gyan, dont have cash but do have strikers w would like and they dont want.
I'm leaning more that way as well. Gyan is a wonderful player to have at the club, but the hole wouldn't be as big as the Bent one. Problem is, the Bent one hasn't been fully sealed yet.... Gyan for Pav and Defoe, and we pay for Hutton, ideal??
He's away no for the Copa America, and there are 3 or 4 World Cup qualifying double headers over the season, which Uruguay will not release him from in a million years.
I agree with roger lets stop this negative s***e now. He wants to stay so lets just back him, thats what supporters are for.
Selling Gyan isn't just selling a player. It's some of our ambition. When he's publicly came out and said he's staying, selling him would be ridiculous! Every top team needs a star man, a big name, somebody who can make something out of nothing. Gyan got 10 goals in 30 games including just 20 starts which is a very decent return for his first year. He can get 15+ this year at least and will also bring others into the game. I'd be very surprised to see him leave this summer and as for a minimum price to sell him for? I wouldn't even bother thinking about it. A ridiculous offer would be all I'd take but no clubs would be willing to pay that for him.
Isn't the Copa America on now, Agree about the Qualifiers, but unlike ourselves the scousers have more cover for his loss (although he is the best player in the prem imo). In the form of Carroll, Kuty, Maxi etc. This is why it needs to be sorted quickly, either he goes and we find a replacement, or we find a good striker to play alongside of him. Oe else in Jan, it'll be a Wickham/Dong-Won strikeforce.
Agreed one chance - I think Doyle would be a good signing as long as he's fully fit and raring to go but Long is, imo, a bit of a waste - £7m for a striker from Reading is a lot of money (and he's not the hottest young striker in the country so no comments about Wickham) I don;t think Doyle would be a replacement for Gyan - we'd need to be looking at a 20m (ish) player for the "Bent/Gyan" replacement if he went. I want Gyan to stay but his agent is the twat making the waves and should be told where to go
Copa America is now, i typed no... I thought Maxi had gone back to Argentina like, was reported here that he'd signed for Newells Old Boys?
Don't know, thought he was still there, Was reported that he wanted a move back, and he started at Newells. Iv'e no idea..
If Gyan goes he goes it aint the end of the world and I would love us to go out and get Hutts and Krancjar with some of the money but if he does leave we need better strikers that Long and Doyle IMO, we need a 20goal a season striker
Krancjar for the left would be perfect IMO, he is a younger but better Steed IMO, get a left back who will bomb up and down (or maybe Richardson) and that would be one hell of a left side combo we would have
