Lol at Blackpool. £2m (with 35% of that to Liverpool) is just about what Tom Ince is worth as of now. Some good news for us.
Any chance of him now showing us that he is worth even a tenth of that? Because so far I'd say he was worth **** all. He has not influenced a game significantly at all. Looks lightweight. And lost on a football pitch. Could someone enlighten me as to what we've got for our £2,000,000?
There's definitely a good player in there, don't think he's had a real opportunity to show what he can do. Get him running the left wing in a 4-2-3-1, that's his position. He's no striker, no number 10, he's an attacking winger who likes to attack the box, not the run down the flank and cross type like Elmo, or to a lesser extent Brady, which is how we've tried to use him on the rare occasion we've actually played him on the flank. He'd have done well at Swansea I think, coming here was a bad move for him.
If he is a tenth as good as Ronaldo - the real Ronaldo, one of the greatest players ever - I'll be happy.
Hah yeah of course. I was reading something about how utterly focused he's always been, diet, lifestyle, training etc. He might be an arrogant arsehole but he does had the skills to back it up. Interestingly I think I read something about the other one playing in the MLS Div 2 or something.
I have reservations and actually thought he looked **** early on. Completely feel different nowadays. He just needs to fulfill his potential now though but otherwise the guy definitely has more quality hidden than most of our signings in recent years. I want him in a free role though. He needs to have nothing but the back four in front of him.
To be eligible for compensation you have to offer the player a contract renewal on reasonable terms (I'd assume that means on the same or higher wages than they're already on). When the player rejects that to sign for another club you put in the claim. Arsenal didn't offer Henderson a contract (and had formally released him) so were never eligible for compo. Re: Liverpool's 35%. It's nothing to do with the tribunal/out of contract situation. When they sold him part of the deal was that they'd get 35% of any fee Blackpool received in future. Blackpool have just received a £2M fee so Liverpool are due 35% of it.
It's seems we've only actually paid Blackpool £1.6m for Ince, the rest is add-ons... Blackpool came to an agreement late on Wednesday night with Hull City over a transfer fee for Thomas Ince. The two clubs were set to go to a tribunal yesterday in Manchester only for a deal to be struck late the previous evening. It’s believed the Seasiders were chasing a fee of £8m for the 22-year-old but after struggling to reach a figure it’s believed they eventually settled on a fee of around £1.6m up front. The Gazette understands the amount could rise to £2.3m depending on appearances and Hull City avoiding relegation from the Premier League this season. While Pool will no doubt be disappointed by the figure, the £1.6m loan fee received last season from Crystal Palace mean chairman Karl Oyston will have earned around £4m for the midfield man signed from Liverpool. It’s understood the Reds will receive 35 per cent of the fee as part of the deal which saw Ince arrive at Bloomfield Road in 2011.
ince will fail to deliver unfortunately he doesn't have it in him he'll be at a Huddersfield or well.. hull in a few years
Up to now it looks like we have been had, hopefully we might see a transformation but don’t hold your breath.
