For the future...why not? Hopefully this is not meant to be the replacement for Arteta.

For the money it's a gamble, if that's the word, worth taking. He's highly regarded and in a position we need cover for, especially long term so it's a good move in my opinion. Watched a couple of youtube clips and it looks like he likes to use the ball as well as throw a few meaty challenges in which is important for Wenger. He'll never want a player who simply is there to lump people. I see he's come out and said "we're in the market for 1/2 players". Not sure if that includes Bielik though I'd not be surprised if it did.

For the future for the future, **** the future, and let's start doing **** for now. How long have we been listening to 'oh this one's for the future'. We have enough youngsters currently with us for a long term future, reenforce it with proper experienced world class players.

For the future is great, but how about sorting out "for now" at some point?

Wenger has said we're in the market for more players, so don't see the need for the negativity about this signing. If we don't sign anybody else this window, then the moaning we be justified. But I think this lad looks like a good signing, so let's take this one on it's merit <ok>

Perhaps if he'd signed the necessary players and then this one, people would be happier. This is like being given a cherry and told a cake might be along later.

I don't get why people are upset about Wenger signing this kid im not an expert in transfer negotiations but from what i know the kid wanted to come to arsenal Wenger wanted him we sorted it out swiftly its not like Wenger was in Poland negotiating terms with him it was Dick Law. So i don't think Wenger has been preoccupied trying to get this deal done

Well, signing players is nothing like baking a cake I suppose.

You just have to get them done when you can. There's no particular order to it ...

Everyone and their mother knows getting the world class DM we all want isn't happening this transfer window. The priority has and still is get a good CB in. With Coq in good form I think we can afford not having a super top DM for now though Arteta is a big miss. We get Hector Moreno like the rumor mills are suggesting and that'll be the main objective achieved. And if we somehow still have the funds to launch a bid for said top DM, which we most likely won't in January then fine.

What the hell is this with 'Coquelin being in good form'?

He's had a couple of home games where he's been no more than OK against pretty awful opposition and now suddenly he's being rated? Did you people even WATCH him? Are you that starved of good central midfielders that you think Coquelin was good in those games?! :emoticon-0120-doh:

Have to agree with this. He's done okay, but I'm not convinced he's any more than a squad player a la Flamini.

Wenger has confirmed in his press conference that Bielik is having a medical today.

I think its interesting that the new breed of 'Defensive midfielder' seem to be tall and quick rather than the old school 'Makelele' build.

If you look at Matic, Bender, Kramer, Krychowiak, Martinez etc.. they all have a similar body type.
Krystian Bielik seems to fit into this mould.

Coquelin has been ok in his games. Not great perhaps but a definite improvement on Flamini. He might not be the answer to our problems but he's not playing badly so why slate him? Some people are so f*cking negative if boggles the mind. We've signed a promising young midfielder and some are acting like it's Armageddon! You can guarantee if we passed up the option to get him for this price and he turns out to be amazing then some tw*ts on here will moan at Arsene for passing up a great opportunity.

Dare I ask about this other lad we've signed or will that make you guys whinge even more?

Yeah this does piss me off to. We signed a young player with great potential - fans should be pleased about that.

Not only that.. People have been saying for years we need a tall, powerful midfielder to balance out the squad but Wenger 'does'nt sign those kinds of players'. Well..he just did.
