I did say this in the summer. The purchases you made were good ones imo but you had already had Barry and Lukaku on loan. If you wanting to retain their services you had to sign them which you did, great for Everton but you don't progress too much from that previous season as a result. Its why I don't like loans. Maybe thats a contribution to the season you're having, you've not made much improvement on last year?

I'd say neither is good enough. Says it all that all three players aren't 100% wanted by their clubs.

Exactly. I've even argued with fellow reds in the past when I've heard them say we should sign someone because they're better than our current options. For example, when we had Koncheskey, nearly every LB going was better but that didn't make them good enough.

Just realised that if Toure, Johnson, Gerrard and Lambert all leave (first three out of contract, last appears unwanted), that would bring the average age of the squad down significantly. Would Jones and Skrtel be the only 30+ people left (depending who we bring in)? Jones is hardly definate to stay either (hopefully).
