Good Morning All, WJ found a very interesting interview between Simon Austin and Cellino. In the article, it demonstrates that Cellino's popularity seems to be feigning. We all know that Cellino is a bit eccentric, does odd things, very superstitious and does not like the colour purple, but surely he is a lot better than our predecessors? Cellino believes the squad at Leeds is a good one. He believes they just need stability, support and confidence. You can imagine that Redfearn would not be able to sneeze without asking permission first. Austin makes the point that Redders said he was very interested in bringing Becchio back to the club, only for the big man to dismiss it when he came back from Miami. Who knows better Cellino or Redfearn. Cellino employs Redfearn to do the thinking for him, so why keep over ruling him? There is no point buying a dog, and wagging your own tail! Today is the day that we find out whether Cellino will be banned by the Football league Cellino's appeal will be heard by a three-person professional conduct committee chaired by Tim Kerr QC and the outcome is likely to be known next week. If the Football League's disqualification is upheld, it will mean 58-year-old Cellino will have to step down as a director, until March. Kerr was also the person who allowed Cellino's original appeal back in April on the basis that there were no written reasons available from the court case which would determine whether it was a dishonest act or not. But the QC stated in his decision allowing that appeal: "If the reasoned ruling of the court in Cagliari discloses the conduct of Mr Cellino was such it would reasonably be considered to be dishonest, he would be [disqualified]."
I don't think Cellinos popularity is "feigning". Those blind or stupid enough still believe. It is however waning. But you could be right, 60 might be pretending, is is more logical than blind faith. Morning btw. Another day off waiting for autowindscreens. Won't take bets on them sorting the car out! Useless cnuts. Can't see us getting the decision today which is a shame. The YEP said last night that we are likely to find out next week.
Morning Glory, Owner wise, its between the devil and the deep blue sea. Would you have prefered together Leeds with your mate Verity?
Good Morning to Matt and co from a claer chilly Cote de Bardsey Cellino popularity has not waned with me all I can think is that fans must have very short memories if they think it was as good underBATES MC allowed Dave to get in 2 players I believe Ajose well we know how good he was and Sharp who has not been given much game time so he probably doesnt trust his coaches. He knows best I still think we need 3 players a winger a striker and a destroyer far be it for me to suggest anyone anymore I leave that up to others who know more than me I hope Cellino is successful but I very much doubt it
Morning all, just fed up with one shambles of an owner after another. Cellino contradicts himself every time he opens his mouth. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...e-b-comments-conflict-with-his-transfer-pol/? Cellino says we have a good squad, admits Championship is far better than Serie B then continues to source players from the inferior league. The writer of the article also questions the quality of recent signings. Bottom line is none of us have an answer, just like when Bates was in charge we have to put up with it and hope a knight in shiny armour is just round the corner. I too get fed up arguing with others on here, maybe they are right and I am wrong, we all have opinions, shame some don't like to hear them so they take it more personal. It would be nice to have a normal owner so the only debate each week was revolved around on field performances, our next game and what position required strengthening.
At the time no, and I hope he ain't the best alternative now... But Cellino is just Bates with less history in England and better PR. If Cellino lasts another two years we will be in league three, with no decent british players, no prospect of getting back to the championship and have more debt than when he took us over. He is mugging us off. Always, always follow the money.
Morning Mike, at least worst case scenario, Cellino will take a 6 week week holiday. I think we need a very good defensive midfielder and a goal scorer.
Morning ristac, its all about opinions. No right, no wrong. How boring would it be if we all agreed with everything. There wouldn't be a board
This is another thing that gets me, we are half way through the month, Cellino could have brought in his supposed targets, disagreed with the verdict but took the knock, sat back for 6 weeks and saved himself time and money. Instead he took a poorly timed two week holiday in Florida and splashing cash to once again fight the FL. Win or lose the appeal, step down and back in 6 weeks from now, the FL will have his card and Leeds Uniteds marked. Wish some would remember these words
You seriously don't get it do you? Forget the current case if you are happy to have a con man in charge. The other two cases he has coming up in Italy will bring far more sanctions his way. He will be found guilty of another tax evasion on a yacht, and the conspiracy charge relating to Cagliaris ground will probably land him with serious jail time. Even if he won this appeal he will be banned by June and then again from September. He should be kicked out by 9.05 this morning, not for three months but forever.
Morning all I very much doubt we'll hear anything of substance from the court case today, it does appear that Cellino is up against it this time though. Spot on, just need to make sure people (on both sides) don't take it personally. That's when threads start getting repetitive, abusive, and dull for everyone else (now I have access to making proper tables again, Match Thread coming today!)
Sorry to bang on... But only one person has given it " I know more than everyone else". It wouldn't matter which side of the fence he was on or how old he is I would be taking umbridge at that. Can't stand sanctimous ****s who get off on feeling superior.
You think you can bully your opinion on everyone well this golden oldie is not for turning I will stick to my guns and say what I feel yo hell with you and your kind bullies have never bothered me
You are the one who started with the personal insults and the "I know more" or "my opinion is more valid than everyone else's" ****e. I have no problem with your faith in Cellino it is the suggestion everyone with a different view is wrong or somehow inferior that causes me a problem. History and facts will judge the reign of Cellino no matter how much you or I bang on about it. I understand others giving you an easy ride due to your age but have you actually noticed anyone else thinking you posting style (not the content) is ok.? If I was wrong taking you to task, I would be getting slaughtered given that you post interesting stuff until your superiority complex takes over. There hasn't been one post endorsing your "my boy" or Lord Haw Haw" jibes, not one. I accept we see things differently, and asked you not to name check me anymore. I stopped referring to you but you carried on. So who was bullying who? Given you carried on I feel it fair to do likewise despite it being boring for others. There has been quite a bit of mirth over your claims that you have an inside line and the club act on your scouting reports.
Welcome back, I hardly see you posting now, I thought you had done a Simon-21 on us, speaking of which I haven't seen him in months either after a brief return.
Good for you, but stick to football which you obviously know a lot about, and leave the "personal" responses to those who feel the need to abuse.
Disagree with you about MC.. The club has had a run of management failures over the last 10years. The fans have been taken for a ride and the club has been milked by successive "owners".. we know nothing of the high finances that have gone on behind all the "legal" loopholes that have been used to hide the true state of the club. If we had poor support these characters would not have been anywhere near the club. I hope the FL sort the mess out over the next month and allow the club a period of quiet recovery ( after doing DUE DILIGENCE properly for a change) I repeat what I said a few days ago: I have a feeling that things are coming to a head at Leeds. The FL have not enjoyed MC's behaviour and his tenure of Leeds United. All the legal background to both his past and the legal implications for the FL have caused problems for both parties. I also think that MC will be looking for a way out of his "ownership" of the club. There are too many links to the past that we know nothing about. If there is a way for the FL to sort it out once and for all they will take it. The FL are not going to be "played about with" much longer. That's just my opinion by the way.
