Aagh, guys, give it a rest. You say the games are boring!! I know, you just can't wait 'til Saturday and need to write something....anything...
You can think what you like. There's just as much evidence/personal opinion on both sides of this debate. You just happen to think I'm wrong and I think you're wrong.
Actually my previous post (apart from the parts which were clearly meant to be sarcastic) contained a list of facts rather than personal opinion. Happy to leave it there though
Do they still do those Turkey pies at half time ? Scrumptious. I'm going to start a pie thread , the Ipswich pies are vile and overpriced.
In response to Rick. 1. These are not my views I picked up on them from earlier posts but didn't use the quote reply thingy . 2. Lafferty is a winger and I wouldn't want to see him play up front when we have 3 better options. 3. I actually think Grabban is quite good I may have mentioned it before. 4. My faulty syllogism (nice wordage by the way) was also a reply to Neil Adams never captaining a side he played in and this was yet more evidence of his lack of born leader/manager credentials. When you reply with quote it kind of tails of into a blur instead of quoting the point so I don't use it as much so I can see where the confusion began. 5. That was not in the top 100 eccentric posts I have posted , I can think of at least 3 piano playing cat posts that I would consider more left field than the one you highlighted.[/QUOTE]
My apologies, SN23, but I failed to see what you were on about but now I do. My second 'bad' was to fail to remember your classic cat musician contributions, which are light-years ahead in the eccentricity department, but absolutely delightful all the same! Gandy has already pulled me up on the 'syllogism' issue, so I don't think I'll be playing that card again soon!
With regard to the permanent appointment of Adams, I've said before that - as well as the lack of experience - I also think City badly needed a completely fresh start, which we didn't get by appointing someone who was part of the existing set-up. Now we have a totally independent new face at the top and personally I'm much more hopeful (although I don't think we'll get automatic - I agree with Supers there's probably too much to do).
Not at all Rick, kudos for upholding the standards of this forum. (Just pm me the definition next time, ok?)
I'm all for using clever words, 2 weeks ago I dropped plundered into a post then I kept seeing it pop up on other peoples posts I have also learned about elipses but not really certain how to use them . If you put ... it is like a lazy quote and makes you look clever or pretentious. The reply function sometimes comes up with the wrong one and if you quote posters like Rob for example you only get a tiny fraction of his point before it blurs off on this new site.
Good news Rob I just dicovered that if you push the quote the entire thing is viewable . I like your longwinded replies .
