Thank heavens for that. We did not need extra time. Long did well, he was everywhere, and a good goal.
Well yeah. But other than that, he really caused problems for Clyne. Of course, Clyne dealt with it, but with more than usual effort, it seemed to me.
Blergh. That was a pretty ugly and dull game that we really didnt need. Feeling a bit disappointed even though we won. Very costly to lose VW and DT if thats the result. Like you all say, at least Cork is back and Reed is good. We will miss Tadic and Mane up front, thank god we got Elia in to make up some numbers. Fran Called it, horrible game.
Well, far from eventful - but we're through. Match Report: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/content.php?554-MATCH-REPORT-Ipswich-Town-0-1-SAINTS
On reflection, there were an awful lot of Saints players, past and present, on the Portman Road pitch this evening. I suppose too many years gone by that JWP can shake David McGoldrick's hand and say Hello mate. If he knows him at all it's probably more like, Hello Mr McGoldrick.
They have been a bit spoilt recently and some only want blood, thunder and goals, this was never going to be that type of game, sometimes you have to bite the bullet and appreciate other aspects of the beautiful game, we WON didn't we, enjoy the moment now, worry about it later when get news, good or bad, it may not be all bad.
Long has paid back a bit of that purchase price that seems to bother some fans. Scores important goals and works so hard....but doesn't he run funny
