Well stated Dai, some Jacks are never satisfied and clearly do not live in the real world, probably if Laudrop had been the manager it would have been the best deal since sliced bread, takes all sorts I suppose as Bassett's would say.................
Take it you think we are now a club that can write off a potential £5m profit. Why didn't we just sell him for £15m? or £20m, its all profit, right? Come on Phil.
Look at Chelsea and how much they threw at Torres? Look at Liverpool and how much they threw at Carroll? OF COURSE THEY ARE TAKING A RISK!.........................
How have we lost money? We set the bar very high at £30 Million, obviously to get as close to that as possible, and we did just that. £28 Million deal with no HP arrangements and a big £25 Million bank Transfer on completion today, with performance bonus for the remaining £3 Million, how the hell can you not be happy with that deal?
£30m was never on the table so how can we take that We tried to get more but it was not going to come and in the end it was a fair offer and one we could not turn down...
I said over 12 months ago that we will more than double our money on Bony and so we have, and I am very happy for our club and board. great day for the Swans, who are part of the biggest deal in this years January transfer window, yes we keep on treading new ground, and long may in continue, well done Huw and the board.......................
"I'm going to really miss Swansea - the club and its people," Bony told the Swansea website. "But it's a big challenge that I had to take, one I'm excited about. "I'd like to thank everyone at Swansea from my playing colleagues, the coaches, medical team and the kit staff through to the chairman [Huw Jenkins], who has been great with me. There are too many people to mention. "The fans are up there at the top, though, because they've also supported me from the very first day I arrived, even when things weren't going so well for me. "They've kept singing my name at the Liberty which has meant so much to me. "They would even sing the Wilfried Bony song when I walked down the street, which is unbelievable. We would have a good joke about it. "I only have good things to say about life in Swansea and the people because they've always shown me warmth - on and off the pitch. I'm going to miss everyone." "I still believe that Swansea was the right club for me to join when I left Holland for the Premier League. I have no regrets, although it's going to be strange coming back to the Liberty to play against Swansea," Bony added. "But now was the right time for me to gain more experience and challenge myself with Champions League football and to try and win trophies. "I have spoken to the coach [Garry Monk] today and he has wished me good luck for the future. I would also like to thank him, not just as the coach but also when he was a player last season, because he has helped me a lot. "I will also speak to Ash [Swansea and Wales centre-back Ashley Williams] later to thank him as captain and to pass on my gratitude to the rest of the squad. "It's a good squad that will continue to do well this season. I have no doubts about that." Class act. Good luck Wilf.
Well you cannot possibly be that thick not to understand the Torres and Carroll deals and they're fallouts, so why should I waste any further keyboard energy?
I have no doubt that bony himself knows he will have to up his game and work hard on his finishing as he wont have the luxury of being picked like we gave him after some of the misses he made for us. Man city wont tolerate it and they do have the luxury of putting high earners on the bench or even out of the squad all together if they dont perform. I really hope he does well for his sake and he knows it's not going to be easy but he really needs to try and now is the time to do it...
